is it possible to do this?

We all know that if you do a backwards pickpocket on an NPC, they will wind up carrying the item as long as it has zero weight.

I think I remember reading somewhere that if we backwards-pickpocket the prison iron wrists we get at the beginning of the game (which are zero-weight) onto an NPC, and that if they're enchanted with a destruction-type spell, then the NPC will immediately start burning up or something. But I tried this and it's not working.

Try naming it the letter 'A' NPC's will wear the first type of item in their inventory, which are alphabetically organized, so, if said NPC has say, steel gauntlets, and you give them a wrist item named Total death, the npc in question will wear the steel gauntlets because they come first in the alphabet

Excuse me, I'm commandeering this thread for a moment. Two questions. 1. How do you enchant stuff with other stuff? 2. How are you even pickpocketing guards at all? Every time I try even with my high sneak level I fail.

for your 1st question: you need filled soul gems, and you need an enchanting alter, and money
for your 2nd question: it depends on the lighting, time of day, sound, and of course, there is always 100% chameleon which can be achieved via enchantements, or spells

Wait so, could I enchant my armor with chameleon and be always invisible like Lucien?

If so how would I go about doing this?

well, if you don't have the wizard tower dlc, you need to be and apprentice in the mages guild, then go into one of the buildings, (i forget which) and go to the alter, you should probably use grand soul gems, and put your apparel item and soul gem in respective slots, pay the required money amount, and voila! you have your enchanted items

There are Altars of Enchantment in the Arcane University, I think they're in the Chironasium. And there's some (one?) in the Arch-Mage's personal room.

You can use Soul Gems, but if you happen to have Sigil Stones handy those work too. :)
