Possibly new info that is old?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the gray beards can use the voice but they cant do it in the dragon language. so Thu'um is just the use of "The Voice" while you use the voice in the dragon language making you more powerful. and only you can absorb the dragon souls to gain more shouts.

Ill try to find a source.

Thanks.
Wait... So you're saying the use of shouts is distinct from the knowledge of the dragon language and can be used separately. One can use this kind of magic without the dragon words? That's interesting. This seriously boggles my mind.

Hmm, I think the greybeards are one of the few that can actually learn the dragon language. How do you otherwise explain the theme song? (them singing the prophecy written in dragon language?) Or them knowing what a Dovahkiin is?

so basically the greybeards can learn the dragon language but they cant use it to the extent a Dragonborne can.

Thank you hlvr ! Btw about the Jarl part, so they are part of the empire? So if you join the imperial legion its like ur helping the jarl's right? Or the faction doesn't have anything to do with them(i hope it plays some part)? I mean it would be pretty cool if you help a jarl with many quests and he rewards you with a house and maybe some kind of a " elite soldier" companion, one more reason to join the empire

I think it is sort of a "medieval" system in which the Jarls are vassals of the Empire, but now many of them seek full autonomy to increase their own political powers as the Empire weakens, while others do not believe it would be right to turn their backs on the Empire. Perhaps we can change the world by tightening the grip of the Empire on the individual counties or aid them decentralize the Imperial influence.

I wish the player could become a Jarl. :(

But I still wonder what their connection was to several Nordic war chiefs. It sounds like they were very powerful. So, if they've nothing special... what sets them apart from other mortals?
Isn't it just a language anyone who devotes oneself to it can learn? Also, the prophecy may have been known more widely than just the Greybeards. That doesn't sound too implausible.

Look at it this way: anyone can learn to hold a brush and mix colors but only a few have the talent to make masterpieces. Similarly, anyone can learn to read and pronounce dragon language, but only a creature with the soul of a dragon can unleash the full power within the words.

Here's some key parts that I found interesting:
2. We can go to the world of Oblivion (the Daedric realms) in Skyrim as we have been able to before, but Todd Howard didn't want to comment how much or in what way.

That's nice.

3. There is politics in Skyrim. There are nine Holds and each one has a Jarl (a ruler of the hold). POSSIBLE SPOILER (it's not that serious of a spoiler though, and I personally didn't mind reading it. The "spoiler" is about the two sides of the civil war.):
Spoiler
At the beginning of the game, one of the Jarls appeals for the secession from the Empire. At the start, you're supporting the Empire side, but you can choose to support the rebels later. Politics therefore matter, but there are no times when the player can "do politics", e.g. the player him/herself becomes a Jarl. In other words, you CAN'T become a Jarl.

That's great!

Spoiler
The ability to affect the civil war and the choice what faction to support is awesome! I really hope this isn't mistranslated!

6. In Oblivion, characters would suddenly disappeared into thin air when going through a door (due to cell seperation). In Skyrim, characters reach out to the door, open the door, and then disappears.

That's a great improvement!

Thanks, it was about time I read that again too.

Hmm, this makes it sound like I'm completely overthinking the whole issue and I probably am. A logical explanation indeed.

The real answers shall be only known on 11/11 + several hrs. I'm confident we'll discover there's somehow more to it.

Thanks for your insights.

That's a nice little detail making them open a door. I imagine they built a little pocket behind the door the guy goes into before he actually "teleports" inside. This will add more immersion and is a nice little touch of new info for me, thanks for the news!

No karma? That is nice. Only with the gods and physical witnesses of your actions should karma be in effect.

Well, obviously you being Dovahkiin will play a huge role in the Main Quest and the prophesy. But of course Beth is never going to reveal those kinds of details.
Oh, and you're welcome.

Remember that the term "Oblivion" actually means all of the Daedric realms combined, not just Mehrunes Dagon's realm. So depending on which prince's domain we end up in, it could be anything. I would sure like to visit Azura's Moonshadow

Yeah with a mod you will :) anyways i think that will contribute for a 2nd playthrough one supporting the EMPIRE, and one the rebels , i just hope you will have some big role in politics like maybe at end of the civil war quests you will command like a small army.
