Post apocalypse utopia built - still dirty settlers

Post » Thu Dec 10, 2015 7:12 pm

So i get why bathing and um, other 'hygiene' routines may not be numero uno for settlers before they became your settlers. The dirty, ragged state seems very approrpiate given lack of fresh water.

But now they are living in paradise, with millions of purified liters of water produced each day, oppulent homes and powered structures with actual beds, you know - garden of eden relative to FO wasteland - they still cant wash their faces. Some settler faces have more, oddly the women seem to show more dirt on faces.

What I'd like is a mod or base feature that turns settlers from grimy to clean as settlements build up infrastructure. Or just a toggle to mass remove dirt marks from all settlers soon as they become your settler.

My doctor in red rocket has dirt all over her face. It makes me really nervous when I need medical attention.

Turn dirty-faced settlers into provisioners. Then, when they're outside the town boundaries, shotgun blast to the face.

Continue doing this: cleansing your settlements of dirty villagers, letting new ones fill in their spots, and repeat for any new dirty settler you get.

After a few generations of this, only pure and clean settlers will remain.

Also oddly, someome must be making or uncovering caches of sealed soap, because we find so many soap bars just lying around.

Clearly, no oil based emulsion will last 200 years sitting around, so someone has to be making or distributing all that soap. Yet no one uses it for their hygiene.

Wish their was a console command to remove dirt from npcs.

One day someone will figure out how to place a barrel on the roof, fill it with water and stick a wee hose out of it, so we can have showers again...

Well there is no option to build showers. Maybe a mod can add that in (or DLC) then the settlers could get clean.

People were getting clean long before showers came along. A good old fashioned roman bath house would be an awesome settlement build item. Spomge bath girls would be um...bonus.

Would love to reply, but someone would have to invoke Godwin's Law upon me. :)

Not if you knew how they used those sponges :P

Gotta do something with all those bodies that pile up, with their valuable fatty substances. The Institute has the betterment of mankind in mind: Surface Dwellers may no longer count as humans to them, but there's no reason they have to be smelly.

It would be nice if we could build our settlers amenities, bathrooms & what not. A lot of them are redundant walking around the place muttering to themselves. They should all have jobs, not just assign to food & guard posts etc. We need some to carry out maintenance on turrets & doctors to keep everyone healthy. I just wouldn't mind it going a step further considering Bethesda has gone through a lot of trouble to create this system. Maybe more goodies to come with some DLC, fingers crossed.
