Six String Samurai.
It's a post-apocalyptic film about a man who wants to be the king of Vegas.
Great film.
Bad acting.
Poor script.
Great soundtrack.
Crap special Effects.
Nice iconic characters.
Just a damn good film. :)

Nah.
The film is really funny in a weird sort of way.

It's like, the film tries to take itself so seriously which is really cute.
But it's not a bad film, not at all.
But if you're expecting an I Am Legend budget for a film then you're probably better off not watching this one.
I had a blast watching it.
Could very well be one of my favorite films of all time.

Frankly, at the moment I'm priming up for Dead Rising 2 more than New Vegas. With it a month away still, priming myself for it would be torture (and waiting for DR2 is torture enough!). So I've been reading World War Z, watching playthroughs of DR1 and so on. But after I beat it a few times, then I will probably start amping for New Vegas, during which I will likely replay Fallout 2 (and possibly 1), and start watching movies like Mad Max, The Road, and so on.

Nothing was as bad as Troll 2. lol
The first one was no Citizen Kane either...

On topic, Im watching; A Boy and His Dog, The Road Warrior, Children Of Men, Idiocracy, They Live, 12 Monkeys, The World the Flesh and the Devil, Zardoz, The Ultimate Warrior (The Yul Brynner Movie, not the Wrestler), The Omega Man, just to name a few...

Watching the Anime Desert Punk, fun, tongue in cheek post apocalyptic anime with a good mix of serious action and dark humour. Also one of the Few anime where the English dub is 10 times better then the Japanese original (at least to me)

I've been eating a lot of spam.. but calling it cram.
I've also set up a weapons workshop in my basemant so I can create futuristic weapons that I can use in the wasteland... so far i've created a pointy stick and a something that resembles a slingshot using an old rubber band and a paperclip...
Best of all I've been irradiating all my water so I can build up a tolerance ... all my hair fell out and I'm having trouble seeing... but other than that I think it's going well.
I want my fallout experience to be as real as possible.

Just re-watched Children of Men. The road was good as well.

If you haven't seen A Boy and His Dog you gotta see it! Kinda dated but there a good amount of stuff is arguably the basis for a lot of Fallout lore.

Also started another new character in FO3. melee, big gun and charisma build. Pretty much the last only build I haven't done.

I really need an PC so I can play STALKER.

Would love to get my hands on a good post apocalyptia graphic novel if anyone has any suggestions

Well... I can give you some real novels; Lucifer's hammer ( A great little book by Larry Niven, one of my fav sci fi novelists), On The Beach (Another great one), Earth Abides ( A real old one, written in the 40s), I Am Legend ( The real deal, not the terrible Will Smith crap)...... Just to name a few....

......and watching The Colony on Discovery every week.

I really like the concept for that show, but like most reality shows, so much of it seems very staged. I can't tell who are the contestants are and who are the actors.

for example they have people, who are suppose to be other "survivors," raid their camp. Those are just actors right?

Maybe I just don't get what they're going for. Is it suppose to be one big experiment? And I use "experiment" loosely because there is nothing scientific about reality tv.

Bought Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics, and learning as much as I can before New Vegas is coming. But it's more difficult than I expected, I keep dying every 15 minutes...

On The Beach is perhaps even more depressing than The Road. A small excerpt from the plot;

The Australian government makes arrangements to provide its citizens with free suicide pills and injections, so that they will be able to avoid prolonged suffering from radiation sickness. One of the novel's poignant dilemmas is that of Australian naval officer Peter Holmes, who has a baby daughter and a naive and childish wife, Mary, who is in denial about the impending disaster. Because he has been assigned to travel north with the Americans, Peter must try to explain to Mary how to euthanize their baby and kill herself with the pill should he not return from his mission.

sounds uplifting :liplick: . I love depressing stuff. Mostly because so much media is saturated with happy endings, love interests, and predictable story arcs.
