Post-apocalyptic teen romance books seem popular...

Whether it's Amy discovering she's a vampire princess destined to fall in love and overthrow the evil world vampire government that conquered the world or a girl in a dystopian setting falling in love with a boy she can never be with, seems like that is all the rage right now.

After working my way through a good chunk of the Deathlands audiobooks, I wanted to check out another post-apocalyptic series but had a hard time finding one. The teeny ones and Left Behind series wasn't for me, the Patriots series was too alarmist/TEH EVIL GOVERNMENTS OF TEH WORLD, and the 5th Wave debut novel spent more time focusing on love than anything else.

I enjoyed One Second After and World War Z. Can anyone recommend anything less lovey than what is saturating the genre currently?

Have you read the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King?

Well, they already ruined Vampires and Werewolves, so it's time to ruin the Apocolypse as well!

Ghoul or Mutant?

Listened to the first two audiobooks and reading the comics (the Omnibus was brilliant), the rest of the books are on my list. They're kind of like a mix of all sorts of genres.

This was on a be my suggestion. If you can stand the [what becomes] repetitiveness of Deathlands then you will enjoy this series.

Is Metro 2033 a good one too, if anyone knows?
