A post on an idea to release MMO ontime

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 6:19 pm

Thought this could create some ideas or help.
Not my original post.

They can do this easily, they can buy an existing engine and quickly release an mmo based on the classic look and feel of the original game. They name it Fallout Online: Prequel. They make it free to play with a low susbscriber cost. That secures the right, in the money and in the time frame. Then they use the small amount they make of prequel and build the first "expansion", the expansion would then replace all of the existing code with the new mmo they built, or they release the better MMO as a seperate game and maintain both communities.

lol You really haven't listened to what Chris has posted have you? They have plenty of time to build this game. Actually they have more time to build this game then most game devs get. The only difference is they have a sink or swim attached at the end of gamesass deadline. :P I'm not worried about the devs not hitting the deadline, because I know they will make it and it will be good in the end. My only worry is how gamesas treats the game after release.

1. Do they dedicate a full dev team to make the game then pull out to only have a skeletal crew maintain it.
2. Do they dedicate a full dev team to make and support the game until its no longer cost efficient?

That is my only worry. I hope they fallow Blizzards lead and go with the latter. Image

yes i read the post he made about having plenty of time the same day i posted this. I've read alot about the agreement and i also know that the money needed to launch this project is not available yet. The money is important to make this happen on time. Sorry but Chris might have meant he has alot of time to do his part which is big but hes not an mmo designer or has experience with it.
The Project being done ontime is not solely dependant on him. 30 mill, an experience mmo staff, and some good ideas is what is needed to do this ontime.
