Post patch notes

I had a hope to get back ED-E with this patch... well, no such luck. Here is few observation what I experienced after patch:
1. Lost ED-E: I've lost little bugger somewhere few levels and several hours before. kept playing, hoping that it will reappear like did it few times before. Nothing. His perk is still with me, so I got him as companion. After patch: I see Boone as little triangle on map, so very excited look for ED-E... There is another triangle! And it says Victor...and is located on completely unaccessible ridge above the Khan camp above quarry... NO FIX, just shows how deeply this game is broken.
2. Making "Mushroom Cloud": finally you can make it, you need just one nightstalker egg, not 2 piles of it (impossible to get)
3. Abandoned BoS bunker: still locked
4. Melissa in Khan Camp - now always present, allows finishing of "Oh My Papa" quest
5. These 2 Powder Gangers stuck at bonfire at Legion Raid Camp are finally gone
6. Energy weapons seem to finally show some effectiveness - I can kill cazador with 2 shots from plasma modulator
7. I can finally enter Vegas Strip without goofy old cowboy hat on my head.

I mostly was looking forward to regain ED-E, didn't do it for me...

I'll just add any glitch notes to this post until we start another thread dedicated to patch 1.02:

Interface glitches:

- The iron sights doesn't work for the laser rifle. It appears off to the side when zoomed in. Perhaps it was meant to look like this, then I stand corrected. However, I did find that the arms STILL jumps over the viewers head in 1st person view. So, it isn't fixed quite yet.

- The PIPBoy interface still doesn't center on the screen occasionally. Just slightly cut off on the bottom when I activated it.

AI abnormalities:

- I've read this on the PS3 forums, and I'd like to confirm it: Boone's behavior is more static than usual. Random NPC characters will look at you as you move around them. They may also make comments; however, Boone no longer does this in patch 1.02. He will stand facing one direction, and will not turn his head to look at you. It's a bit disconcerting for a very cool character.

I've noticed I'm getting a lot more critical hits that aren't doing as much damage as they should. Even on sneak attack criticals. I noticed this particularly using my Varmint Rifle with night scope to snipe Powder Gangers. Sneak attack headshot kills one, then an identical shot on the next while still hidden does very little damage, but still registers as a sneak attack critical.

It popped up rarely before the patch, just seems a lot more frequent.

Do the arms still jump up in first person mode? I need this confirmed because I don't believe they didn't fix this. How could they not fix something so obvious? Is this resolved with people who start a fresh game?

I've had it happen to me with the laser rifle on patch 1.02.

Arm flopping is still there. New feature is that arms and weapon sometimes vanish (like it was holstered, although is not). It looks like they tried to fix is, but failed.
Happened both with sniper rifle and cowboy repeater.

Man. That was the most annoying bug in the world to me. I was so looking forward to playing without looking like I was competing in a break dance-off. I play all of the game in first person, so it gets very taxing after a while, especially when it blocks your field of vision. :/

Well, maybe in 2 more months? You would think if they spend this long to get it out, it would be right. I mean, that was the point of the wait, right? Ugh.

Post patch error, Farber at McCarran has no dialog. If you try to talk to him the screen zooms in like you're going to talk with him but then zooms right back out. If you've done one of the jobs he asks you to do, the reward is added to your inventory still with no conversation. I'm not sure if this makes it impossible to start his unmarked quest post-patch.

The arms flopping for me only happens rarely and is fixed by changing in and out of sneak mode once.

Is this a post patch thing, or did that always work for you? Because I tried that prepatch and had no luck, and the flopping happened quite often.

Bloody annoying as I had similar problem pre-patch and had to reload to a previous save, because I was doubtful the patch would be able to bring him back. In Beth's defense it is easier to keep track of companions and in a addition to the markers on the map, they tend not to wander off as much. Hopefully if you reload (or unfortunately restart if can't) you incur the problem again.

Don't mean to doubt you, but sometimes in groups a sneak attack critical will aggro another inside the group, though it does vary from time to time. Are you getting the notification it was a critical? Sometimes when aggroed and still hidden, sneak crits wont register. Legacy issue will F3...

here are some issues i have already found. I read through what has been posted so far, so i wont cover any old ground that has already been posted.

on 360, yes i cleared my cache before i downloaded patch
C-finder still has to be unequipped to reload
right arm still invisible while holding rifles (in FPV)
level 30: still no vet rangers with heavy armor, or power armored soldiers. (NCR)
Still only get perks every other level.

I'll post as i find more.

The second one was never a bug to begin with, Obsidian decided to give some middle ground (FO1 and 2 as I'm told, you got perks every 3 levels, FO3 was every level, so they split the difference for New Vegas and set it to every two levels, they won't be changing that in a patch). The first one, I don't know if that's a bug... I think they assume you're not going to walk around the wasteland for 24 hours or more holding a weapon that's of no use, and they hadn't taken into account that someone would potentially use the weapon, then go and wait/sleep somewhere for 24 hours just to reuse it again.

This one isn't a glitch. The laser rifle and pistol do not have true iron sights due to the way they are designed.

level 30: still no vet rangers with heavy armor, or power armored soldiers. (NCR)

This one is quest dependent. You have to be sent to hoover dam by Ambassador Crocker after completing two quests for him.

C-finder still has to be unequipped to reload Can't you only use it once a day anyway. If so why keep it equipped
right arm still invisible while holding rifles (in FPV) Is it actually invisible or just not in the field of vision.
level 30: still no vet rangers with heavy armor, or power armored soldiers. (NCR) They should start popping up sooner
Still only get perks every other level. You've been told before this IS NOT A BUG. You are supposed to only get perks every other level

I'll post as i find more. Post some real ones

3. Abandoned BoS bunker: still locked

I speculated this in another thread but I'm pretty sure that was done on purpose, and in fact having it unlocked was a bug in the first place. I think it'll be part of some future DLC, someone thinks it may even be part of the Dead Money DLC (there's apparently some Sierra Madre posters down there or something?).

this is not a glitch. perks every level, like in fo3, allowed players to create near invincible characters if you chose the right combination. this way is way more balanced.

I would say that there is a possibility of this, since there may be glitches that you have encountered that can cause irreversible negative effect on some quests. Though it should be retroactive to some degree. If you still have a save that is earlier than you started experiencing glitches, you might tr rolling back to that one first.

Personally, I just started a new game anyway after downloading the patch, since I spent a lot of time on my previous playthrough just messing around and not really doing any story stuff in any true order.

You two guys are still following me around harassing me ( in the 360 bug forum), even though you play on the PC. Cool story.
Anyway,

Ghouls still immune to grenade launchers, becoming invincible until you switch to another weapon.

It still pops up telling me it's a sneak attack critical, that's the only reason I know that it's a critical hit. It also happens on lone targets, so it can't be as simple as that.

the developers said that for the patch to work to its best effect starting over is suggested, probably because the patch is meant more to prevent glitches rather than fix ones that are already imbedded into your saves.
