Ruta Menthri is a Dunmer Witch-hunter. She came to Skyrim as a refugee from the troubles in Morrowind, arriving by boat in the port city of Windhelm. She was accompanied on the voyage by her twin sister Ella Menthri*, who was unfortunately washed overboard during a storm, and presumably drowned.
Septimless and mourning the loss of her family, Ruta began her life in Skyrim as a roughneck adventurer, risking her life to retrieve treasures from dangerous places, for lazy and ungrateful patrons. She was kept alive by her skill with a bow and her ability to summon daedric help.
After she witnessed a dragon attack on the town of Helgen, Ruta was caught up in serious matters, and gradually rose in reputation and stature as a mercenary. She was recruited to an organization of vampire hunters called the Dawnguard, where she now serves as a field agent.
*Ella Menthri, as it happens, did not die, but managed to ride out the storm on some floating crates, was rescued, and may well appear in a future adventure.

Uh. I have no idea what's up with that then. I don't use i-anything.... I have a real computer, and stuff just works there....
I'd suggest you yell at whoever provides the "OS" (yeah, I put that in quotes for a reason) for your phone. Alternatively.... use a computer. Like.... the real thing.
*shrug* No clue Rick. I don't use a cell phone for ANYTHING. I have one. It's.... old. Like.... 10 years old. The ONLY thing I have it for (and for which I pay AT&T $25 US a month) is if I have an emergency on the road. Serious. In the last 20 years, I've NEVER used enough minutes on the damn thing to get charged extra.
HATE phones. NOT going there. EVER.
I use both kinds of things, for different purposes. The iPad is phenomenally useful as a low-latency portable music studio and MIDI controller, and as a video/photography support device, but pretty terrible for anything involving text editing, multi-window multitasking, or file transfer.
Hmmm. Well, I don't have any use for "a low-latency portable music studio and MIDI controller, and a video/photography support device". Not to mention that I am NOT going to "be connected" to anyone, anywhere, 24 hours a day.
Spare me.
I don't know (or care) about the "connected" part. I use my iPad as part of my music setup (I have several synthesizers and keyboards hooked up together, along with the IPad, an old Mac Pro, and a high-end Linux laptop.)
Well, if you're a music professional, that makes sense. I'm not.
I'm also not available to the entire world any time anywhere - people need to unplug (which I guess means figuring out that they're addicted, first....)
I don't even answer my phone (land line) when it rings, unless the caller ID says it is She Who Must Be Obeyed.
I compose and record "experimental music." It's what you might call a "retirement hobby," so I can basically play around with whatever sounds interest me, and I don't have to please anybody.
Heh. If I don't recognize the area code, I don't answer the land line. Sorry telemarketers.... ain't goin' there. [Actually.... there are TWO and only two area codes I answer calls from - IF those numbers have name info I know.]

A previous (now deceased) character:
Vixi, Ornithog-Rider. Daughter of the Nerevarine by an Akaviri father, she flew from Akavir to Morrowind on the back of a domesticated Giant Cliff Racer (Ornithog), intending to retrieve a Daedric Artifact that had once belonged to her mother.
Caught in an ash cloud from the erupting Red Mountain, she diverted south and east around Vvardenfall, and a storm forced her to enter Skyrim airspace. There, her mount was attacked and mortally injured by a big black dragon (Alduin), and she was forced down near the border, where she was arrested by an Imperial patrol.
The truth is that Brand Hexxe is actually a bit of a combination. Sixth Brand of the series, and his name is an oblique reference to the notorious "Brand X" of advertising fame. He is a Breton out to prove that Brand Hexxe can be as good as the better-known Number One Brand.
He is a Breton who naturally had a leaning toward magic, but didn't quite make the grade, so he became a warrior... except he didn't quite make the grade...

This is Brand Hexxe on http://imgur.com/RZ3FT3F. The result was polluted water and a bemused cow.
Fixed. Thanks for pointing that out, for some reason my copy/paste has been a bit... weird today. Matches everything else though...
yer welcome... I've had links do that to me a few times... horizontal shower would make more sense than a bath in water that's not even lap deep...lol
