Post your age range

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:56 am

Just out of curiosity, are there a lot of older players (40+) who play Oblivion?

I'm 27 and most gamers I know are 20-29, with a few in their early 30s.

I'm curious, so, I made a poll :)

I'm 60+ and there are several more of us here, the oldest I'm aware of being 83.

I would've imagined most players to be in their teen years, such as myself.

But considering this is the fourth installment of the Elder Scrolls Series, Im sure fans of the other 3 games join in, and must be atleast in
their 20's to have liked the old ones.

Glad to know there are some real Elders here to look up to. :P

WOW!!! I'm actually really, really surprised and pleased to see other 40-somethings and older here. And all this time I thought I was the old fart, little did I know. I'm 46 going on 14, lol. Thanks for the thread OP!

If you keep an eye of the main page's birthday list, you'll get a pretty good idea of the age spread. The intro topic in CD isn't very accurate because the poll gets redone every 200 posts.

Well, in my case, Mrs Acadian has adjusted rather well to having a wood elf for a granddaughter. :P

These types of age polls have been done many times. We normally find younger players prevail in numbers, but older players are quite well represented, surprising many. This poll seems on track for that. :)

14 here. Good to see all age ranges. I think Oblivion has the power to target all of these people :).

Except for people in their late 30s. Hey wait a minute isn't Oblivion rated M or 15?

I'm 35. Most of my mates of a similar age are gamers although our taste in games tend to vary. We're the same in that we started gaming when home computers first took off in a big way back in the early 80's and have never really stopped. The only thing that's changed is the amount of time I get to play which is not so much these days unfortunately :(

I'm also a big fan of Civ IV and these polls are fairly common over on their forums. There's a lot of people 50 and 60+ that play that game.

19 and a bit here. I think I'd feel more at home in the 20-24 category than in the 12-19 though. :P

Depends on the country, I think. The PEGI rating on mine is 16+. I've played it since I was 14, though.

Well, in my case, Mrs Acadian has adjusted rather well to having a wood elf for a granddaughter. :P

So it is possible, then. :P Thanks for cheering me up.

Yep but nobody really enforces that anyway right? As well as the fact that if your parent is there or legal guardian you can buy it as well.
