Post your Easter Eggs.

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:57 am

As the title says, post the Easter Eggs that you have found in the game. Anything you consider an Easter Egg is accepted, if it is within reason.

I'll start:

The Alchoholic Goblin of Crayfish Cave - A dead Goblin laying face-up beneath a beer-barrel outlet surrounded by bottles of Ale and containing several bottles of Wine and Ale when looted.

Shows Bethesda has a great humour and I enjoy finding these as they add a huge depth into the game.

There are several alcoholic Goblins in the game. For example, as I recall, in Lost Boy Caverns.

Despite critics there are many, many unique locations and discoveries in the game. Always amazes me when people say the game and dungeons in it are "cookie cutter".

-The Giant Slaughterfish (Deep down in some cave)
-The Spectral Mudcrab (Mankar Camorans Paradise)
-The Giant Rat (Basemant of some snob in Skingrad)

Last but not least...

-The Uderfrykte Matron (Near Dive Rock)

No, I didn't roll my face over the keyboard (although the devs probably did), such a creature does indeed exist.

There is a giant mudcrab too, but I don't remember where I saw it at.. .. I think I was questing around Leawin when I ran into it.

The classic easter egg is the troll who drowned himself under a bridge and left a suicide note explaining that he is the "worst troll ever" because he wasn't scary enough.

I always wanted to check out Lost Boy caverns. I'll wait untill a higher level to release the restraints of some bugs in there at lower levels.

I had no idea there was a Giant Rat, where exactly is this?

That Giant Mudcrab is near Vindacel south-west of the Imperial City, not sure exactly. I know it is a cave though.

I had goosebumps the first time I found that. I was suprised as it was the first easter-egg I had found in the game. Back then I didn't use the internet at all really. Quite some time ago now.

Giant rat in Lazare Milvan's basemant in Skingrad:

Greenmeade Cave for the Giant Mudcrab. On the road between the Imperial City and Skingrad.

By the way, these are not really "Easter Eggs" in the traditional sense. An Easter Egg is really a reference to something outside the game. Like Jackben Imbel.

These are really more unique finds. Like for example the Necromancer classroom with a Goblin as the subject.

Thats the guy. I always forget his name. It sounds so snobby. The actor who voiced him (Wes Johnson?) did a really good job on this one. (As well as Lechance)

This is so minor, but if I hadn't been viewing myself in third person from almost directly above I never would have found it.

Out by the road outside of fort Magia there's one of those round, decayed stone towers. Inside is a skeleton and a potion.

I had a fun time try to get inside and was sure to save so I wouldn't get stuck in there.

Also, I was scouting around Fort Linchal and something shiny caught my eye up by the base of a statue in an alcove. Took me forever to get up there, but sure enough, at the base of the statue I found a bunch of gems.

Black Rock Caverns north, northwest of Chorrol. Just off the path to Cloud Top. See if you can find the well hidden switch and see where it leads.

I always get a chuckle when I visit the Leyawiin Mages Guild. Dagail is the guild leader there. The space between the headboard of her bed and the wall is stuffed full of bottles of cheap wine. Hey, whatever it takes to keep those voices under control. ;)

Oh, and Manheim, the owner of the Inn of Ill Omen doesn't wear any pants!

OMG I just realized that I'm the biggest retard ever.
Yes, that's the one the OP was talking about.
And no, it's not what I meant.

Mine is that troll that has drowned in a small creek somewhere in the woods, under a small bridge. There are bottles around him and a suicide note saying he killed himself because nobody payed any respect (and fee - apparently his job was to charge bridge toll). ^^ Greatest Easter Egg ever...
Here's what UESP Wiki says about it:
"There is a small bridge just past The Mouth of the Panther, east-southeast of Bravil. Underneath, in the middle of the river, you will find the remains of a Dead Troll. Reminiscent of the children's fairy tale "Billy Goats Gruff", you will find A Poorly Scrawled Note on the body, explaining its failure as a bridge troll:
Mee wurst troll evurr
nobuddy pay brijj tole
me nott sceary enuf
mee gett drunc an kil sellf
troll droun"

Three times doing a certain Thieves Guild quest I never realized the very strange contents of a journal, nor the stranger contents found in the basemant...

"I collected a bucket of human blood from the healers. I had to pay her an exhorbitant amount to keep her tongue still. The Drinkers are doing much better. Am I doing the right thing? The benefit of these plants to all of Cyrodiil is beyond doubt, but the price may be too high.

May be an easter egg, only if it truly is an homage to Doctor Who.

Oh well. At the very least this game teaches me to 'stop and smell the roses'.

The quest where you stop the graverobber in the Imperial City, when you read the book in his basemant, it describes various items obtained from graves, including a "Gold Ring" found with a certain individual, whose name can be re-arranged to spell: Frodo Baggins

I think I once read that the easter egg is a tribute to "Little Shop of Horrors".

You might want to discover it for yourself. But it the corpse apparently being studied for a necromancer class is:

I could see that! It does date the Doctor Zane episode by ten years.
