Post Your Unrealistic Expectations

You know what they say

It's all poops and giggles until someone giggles and poops.

I want to be able to use the detergent to wash all the grimy/dirty pre-war clothing so I can start a laundry service in the game -or at least look good for those romance relationship options :hubbahubba:

Don't hate the playah, hate the rules

I want that Vault 111 is really vague about the cryo thing and that it hints to implanted memories.

Also, don't let the PC's family play an important role.

And no Brotherhood of Steel: good guys Corporation.

I've been making a mod which NV-ifies Skyrim, and I think I would need to remake the questlines from scratch for it to be on par with New Vegas. There are some major grammar mistakes as well.

I hope Fallout 4's writing would be better than Skyrim's writing, but that's not asking for much.

Unrealistic expectations? I expect that Bethesda will actually let Fallout fans see game footage instead of doing behind-closed-doors press exclusives where half of the attendees clearly know nothing about Fallout.

That the entire fanbase is treated equally, regardless of platform, with not just the release, but any DLC to follow.

That Bethesda will end the timed eclusive nonsense.

This is easy:

1) Integrated FNIS Idles

2) Bethesda supported Mod Organizer.

3) Bethesda supported FNVEdit.

4) Bethesda supported save game cleaner, especially is script files are externalized

5) Supported way of uninstalling mods without breaking save games

6) Best, most comprehensive Creation Kit yet is released first week of January, 2016. Oh - and mostly bug free.

7) Fallout 4 preloads available starting the week before release.

8) Fallout 4 has a glorious, mostly bug-free release on November 10 2015.

That is all I will mention - I don't want to push my luck.

I had to do so much freaking wizardry to clean my 360 Skyrim save. I had something like 1200 active scripts going at once. I couldn't even delete the freaking things all at once because it would cause a CTD.

  • a PC tailored UI
    - font size can be changed
    - inventory
    1) search functionality OR
    2) prefixes to better find item of a specific category OR
    3) tabs for categories (while trading)
    - save games
    1) can be named
    2) quick save
    3) alternating autosaves
    4) save profiles for different characters
    - list-form for dialogue (with quick choice shortcuts - 1,2,3...)
    - full support for keybinds, including all keys/actions (no hard-mapped keys)
    - custom map markers
  • an ingame encyclopedia - detailing critters, places, factions
  • skills going up to 300% (I don't care what you say, I liked it)
  • eye- and groin-shots
  • settlements that feel alive
    - more NPCs with character and story that you can talk to and/or explore by other means (journal, consoles, talking to other NPCs)
    - less scheduled time tables, more random
  • a pack-brahmin "companion"
  • a gritty wasteland with characters marked by their own past and struggles for survival
  • raiders groups with unique identities - Mad Max Fury Road illustrates this nicely with the warboys, the ammo runners, the canyon bikers, the many mothers
Some you should be able to relate to, others should just be bugf... crazy.
  • a big map for the wasteland that I piece together from smaller map pieces - a bit of old road map, some tattoo on some leather of questionable original, some scrap paper scribbled over etc. - and prominently displayed in my home
  • unique home decoration from memorable events during the game - at the end of the game my home should feel like a trip down memory lane (if I chose to decorate at all)
  • a big map with some wide spaces for random encounters, hunting
  • an explanation why in the 200 years after the nukes dropped nobody looted all this wonderful crap. And how this fresh apple comes to be in this remote, uninhabited bunker.
  • lakes/rivers that have some life in them. Come one, some plants, fishes, mutant squid.
  • Birds. Assorted small wildlife. I doesn't even have to want to kill me. I've eaten squirrels on sticks - where do they come from?
  • more alternative solutions to overcome obstacles - science and repair as means to distract, take out, pacify enemies (bait and lock them in a room)
  • more Science! in the weird way, with floating brains and [censored]-shaped appendage obsessed doctors and talking toasters bent on world domination

That's just off the top of my head.

That the game will be so good and so RPGey, even NMA folks will accept it as a real Fallout game.

There are some with high hopes; about parts of it. There are certainly things they did right with it; but I've not seen anything but focus on combat and mild banter... We've no idea what caliber of RPG it will be.

But it could turn out to be a really good one.

A world so big it takes an effort to hit one of the invisible walls while also having larger and well populated cities, communities, settlements, and hideouts.

If you're talking about the last one at Gamescom, anyone could get a ticket to see it.

An actual Fallout RPG game that has multiple choices, consequences of our actions as well as rewards, so many perks that we can never be this "King of All Trades" but rather only reach "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" in attempts, while also allowing us to be a King/Queen of a specific role, such as Hand-held guns, Unarmed, etc.

Oh, and crafting that doesn't have bloated numbers of crap and that each actual mod is unique in it's way.

Folks will actually appreciate the game for what it is and not hate it because it isn't an earlier Fallout. Also people will actually also pay attention to the game and we won't get the posts we got early Skyrim claiming things weren't in the game that were sure as heck in my edition.

:D

Mine would be fully customizable clothing and armour, visual modifications like straps, buckles etc, and the facility to change the colour.

I'm not actually expecting that, but it would be cool.
