I am trying to set up a cutscene, but I am not sure about the best way to do so. I want to have the camera follow a character as they fall down a long shaft, in a slowmo dramatic manner. It should end up looking much like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjIPfnp1wB0&playnext=1&list=PL703E6B65CFE35EE8&index=30. (Go to 1:07-1:09 when she gets shot) I am already working on a rextextured vault lab coat with blood on the chest. The character that we follow down said shaft gets shot in the chest, then falls backwards off a ledge into the shaft. So, I see two ways to do this. Either, I can have the npc be dead, pose him painstakingly in the geck, then just have his body moved downward using "setpos z" This would be fine except it would take a while to pose him. Or, I can have someone make me an idle animation of him posed like that (trinity) and then just have him do that idle, then move him downward. There are a few things I'm unsure of, which brings me to my questions:
1. If I pose his dead body, then enable it ingame, will it automatically havok and just fall limply, possibly changing pose, or will it stay perfectly still unless touched or shot or interacted with? (Allowing me to smoothy move it downward with 'setpos z'.)
2. If I get an idle animation and move his living body downward, will there be any issues with him floating in air? (Will the NPC care?) And again, will he havok once in mid air? Or simply stay still because of the idle animation?
Thank you to anyone who can help me figure out the best way to do this! Also, I need someone who can make the idle animation if I go that route and I need it like today or tomorrow. (Its for the end cutscene of my mod, 11 months in the making)
