Pure Mage as a Assassin

Post » Sat Oct 23, 2010 9:01 pm

Okay this is not a simple question but can a pure mage that never uses weapons other than his staff be a assassin for the dark brotherhood? While I admit I love using the bow and arrow the thing that annoys me is having to stay in sneak mode to explore the world. But I can not figure out how to kill someone using spells only without a alarm going off. Another problem I have is with the bow not hitting a target that is laying down. I have played this game for years even played morrowind and have never found a perm character yet because of these problems. This is why I thought instead of always reading posts trying to find a answer and not finding the wisdom I have searched for. I would actually make my first post. Any help is very much appreciated.

Certainly. Just invest in an Invisibility spell and you're good to go.

This. Unfortunately, a battleaxe wielding Nord wearing Daedric armour can succeed at the Dark Brotherhood questline. Or any other questline for that matter. You wouldn't get the bonuses for the DB quests, in all likelihood, but you get the idea.

Illusion magic would probably be your best friend. It all depends on how you use it. Destruction with that magic art you can kill anyone but you need to get the right spell/s. Combine with restoration if you want to bolster your attributes a little? I was thinking of making me a restoration master or something like that, enhancing my skill and attribute ( strength and handtohand ) and just bash the guy to death ahahaha in a few seconds though. I use a mod called Supreme Magicka, gives sneak bonus for magic attacks its not like you asked for any mods I'm just saying. You can kill almost anyone with a combination off illusion and another magic art. Charm/Calm should help you not alarm everyone... even rally if he starts running away or something. Conjuration can be fun too, summon something badass and enjoy the show while charming everyone or something :lmao: so basicly its very difficult but if you try you can do it, just use your imagination

Oh yeah and one more thing. Illusion/Restoration : Frenzy target/touch what level you wanted for 15-30 seconds, fortify speed and strength for 15-30 seconds for the biggest amount you can. Invisibility on self for 15-30 seconds on cast

Sorry for the double post

It is possible, yes. And not too much of a long shot either.

If you have alteration, your lockipicking problems are solved, and with destruction, you got all your basic ranged attacks down. I would recommend still going into sneak mode for the damage bonus, but if you want to simply waltz around a fort brimming with marauders with nothing more than a bathrobe and a walking stick, be my guest! :P
