Texture set wont work.

I'm trying to make a texture set to replace the GECK slideshow. I made a new form of the slideshow object. The 11 slides it shows during the GECK test. Then I took the texture for slides 2-9 called vprojectorslides01.dds and I edited it to have some titles in it instead of their pictures. I then removed the picture (as I used them to position my titles accordingly) and saved it again as a dds, BC3/DXT5. But when I make a texture set for it in the geck, and point the normal at it, no matter where I place it it does not change the mesh's appearance. I tried all 4 slots and many combinations of them. This should be rather simple and I should have it done... The only other object I could try this with is Billboards, but I cannot find the texture for them... all I find are LOD textures. I could place the billboards side by side to display my titles, if I can find the texture. So can someone help me get this texure set working, or find those billboard textures? Thanks for any help.

Simple answer is you cannot use a texture set on the slide show slides. I found this out over a year ago when I made Vault 64 version 1.

You need to make a copy of the NIF and attach your textures directly to that.

\Fallout3\Data\textures\dungeons\vault\vprojectorslides01.dds
etc...

There is also a problem with some furniture. If you use a texture set the game and the CS will CTD when the cell is loaded the next time. It will let you do it and even let you place it. But it will CTD instantly if you try to play it or load the cell in the GECK again.

That is weird. I hope that NV doesnt have any things like that.

I need some help with this. I have taken the nif for the slideshow and I'm trying to direct it to my texture instead, but its not working and I think I'm directing it in the wrong places. I remember there is normally something called BSSTexture...something, and you change that and it changes the texture on the nif. But the slides dont have that, they have something else in the NiTriStrips called NiTexturingProperty>NiTexturingSource so I changed all 4 of those to my texture and it still didnt work. In the geck the slides appear as they do by default. What value in the nif to I have to redirect toward my texture for it to work?

EDIT: Nevermind, it was the BSSShaderNoLightingProperty, I changed that and viola! my texture is in. Thanks WillieSea!

Yeah, I spent days trying to get mine to work. That includes the time trying to use texture sets and finding the NIF and where the actual textures were being used. Its a painful process, but its nice when it works in-game.
