Escort Quests

I rather like escorts.... :hubbahubba:

Mr Sheen please stay away from the computer. You have more important things to deal with right now.

If the NPCs run as fast as the hotel manager in FONV ran to get shot by the sniper, whether fleeing or following,it should be fine.

If you can drop a sword and two men fight over it in the streets then logic says dropping a weapon for an escorted character would allow the character to pick it up and use it. If that is not in the finished game....then sad face. epic salty tears of sad face.

Do not include them. They are the worst kind of quest is any game.

I always hated Escort Quests, especially the one in Morrowind with the Corky the Guar and the one in Oblivion with the Ghost of the Fisherman (or something like that). Then, keeping the NPC alive. I would always try to pre-travel the route to get the Fast Travel map markers so I could hurry these quests along.

Now, it is inevitabel that we are going to have some of these things. So, make the NPCs Passive and stay back, make them run as fast as I do, or if I am following them, make them run so I don't have to walk. I don't want an Escort to act like a Follower, but maybe give me a way to tell them how to move along like the companion wheel lets me.

As long as they're smart, I'm fine with them. Its just common practice for me to save twice as often when I'm babysitting. If a dragon shows up, and they try to take the thing with their fists, I'm fine with just watching till they die. I'll just reload, but honestly.

I love escort quests. Especially having Martin and the Reynald brothers around. I did so many quests together with those guys lol.

I hate escort quests, but I wouldn't mind if there were only a couple in the game. The person being escorted definitely needs to be matched to the players speed or have their speed maxed. They also need to be smart enough to not run away while being pursued by a monster. I always hated this, since by the time I killed off whatever I was dealing with, I had no idea where they went

Ugh, escort quests make me want to kill the person I'm trying to protect. Doesn't help that nearly every NPC I have to walk with tends to be extremely brain dead and ready to fight something as large as Mehrunes Dagon with just their fists. No survival instinct whatsoever!
