Finally broke down this morning and opted in for the free trial of WOW. I ended up really liking it and ended up spending a few hours on it. I got off to have breakfast and now when I try to launch the game it says "world of warcraft was unable to start up 3d acceleration" and then tells me to make sure that directx 9 is installed and that my drivers are up to date. I find this a little weird having just been on no even an hour ago, but anyway, how would I go about fixing this?

The first thing I would try is restarting my computer. If that doesn't work, Blizzard has pretty good technical support at the WoW website.

For how simple that was it worked. On to further stunting my ability to create a real social life.

I think it is a sign that you shouldn't play WoW.
