travel in Daggerfall

Is it possible to "walk" everywhere, like in Morrowind/Oblivion, or do you *have* to fast travel to each separate location, like Arena?

I suspect the latter, but after a few experiments in the world map, I can't decide if I'm really "going nowhere", or if the map is simply that large, so that I really am heading somewhere, it's just taking a long time.

It's possible to walk everywhere like in Morrowind/Oblivion, but there's really no point in doing so. The game world is so enormously large and doesn't really have anything interesting, so it's just a waste of time.

Ah. So there are no random dungeons, except for those on the map, or random encounters?

That's a bit of a let down. That's the very reason I walk everywhere in Morrowind/Oblivion, for the experience. Thank you for the answers.

Oh, ya can find assigned dungeons in the wilderness, but its like finding a needle in a humongous pile of haystack. Not recommend getting dungeons this way.
