Looking for name/province of very cool dungeons

Post » Mon Nov 01, 2010 12:51 am

You guys know any reference (name and province) of dungeons (not main quest related) that by luck of the random generator are very well done? If it isn't too much bother, please post some screenshots of the cool parts, be it huge blocks or clever trap systems.

I noticed this thread has had a lot of views but no replies. I think it's a great idea to catalogue cool random-generator dungeons, but I can't name any off the top of my head.

I'll definitely be paying more attention to where I'm crawling in future :)

I just got killed in a fairly interesting dungeon dead in the center of Daggerfall province. I rather stupidly forgot to save, but it was something along the lines of "farm ruins". I'll be looking for it again tomorrow; I like the idea of this project, as hard as I try, I can't seem to find a good map to even look up my own mystery dungeon. It had a nice progression from Privateer's Hold-type halls to mining shafts and then natural caverns at the deepest level; at the time, it seemed a lot more natural than most of the dungeons I've been through.

I found a witch coven down towards the far south of daggerfall that was very entertaining. Not super-hard, but you had to be careful. A few of the nightblades would surprise you every now and again. The dungeon itself was relatively large, if not overly so.

I would say an interesting duengeon would be the ruins of cosh hall on the island of cybiades because you have to find it for nobody will ever send you there and you can't fast travel to the island I once spent 3 days looking for it. it helps to have a horse

Thanks for the references. I haven't had much time to explore but i will note those dungeons and explore them later.

I have created a wiki page for this in uesp and will update it whenever i have time, but if you wish to login and add your own entries for interesting blocks and dungeons you're welcome. The article also explains an easy way to navigate Daggerfall dungeons.

It might be hard to find very interesting dungeons outside the main quest ones but i think it would be very interesting to register all of the most elaborated Daggerfall block types. I already added an entry to the Throne Room in Privateers Hold with some clues about where to find the secret stash.

Edit: The Ruins of Ashford's Hold / Daggerfall (?)
