[REQz] Two-way wall meshes for Castle interior

Post » Mon Nov 01, 2010 11:56 am

I'm trying to find two-way walls for the CastleInt, Basemant, and CastleIntNarrow tilesets. I'd make them myself but I just can't get my head around Blender or Gmax no matter how much I try. I'm pretty comfortable in Nifskope but if I merge two one-way walls the collision is wrong.

Thanks in advance - this will be a nice resource to have.

Got a pic of what you're trying to accomplish? You said you could merge them in nifskope but the collision is wrong?

I managed to wrap an ear around Blender well enough to be able to cut off vertices to fix collision problems. Sounds like that's probably all this would need is some vertex adjustments.

I don't have a pic (maybe I can make one tomorrow) but basically what I'm shooting for is an example of the typical CastleIntNarrow or Basemant wall that has two sides so that you could use them as room dividers. This is in cases where the floor and ceiling on a typical wall won't do for whatever reason. In one instance, for example, I need to divide the top half of a barracks tower into two rooms like the bottom floor. In another, I want to place a divider in the middle of the room like a partition (with both sides free to have a table next to it). It doesn't need the pillars or posts on either side, however - just the walls and the trim along the bottom and/or top. What I was trying in Nifskope is stripping out the ceiling and floor from a 2wayroom mesh and putting two of the 1-way walls back-to-back, but that way the collision is still there for the ceiling and floor but not the other side of the wall. Thanks a bunch if you do this for me!

LOL. Yea, sorry for all the requests lately - working on a big mod but I'm helpless when it comes to editing meshes outside of Nifskope. I don't know what it is about those 3D programs, but they turn my once-intelligent mind into a gibbering simpleton.

So... http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/9888/wallzm.jpg If so, hard part is now done and all I need to do is some clone & flip in nifskope and the wall will be done.

Yep - that's the ticket. Two of those back-to-back. Thanks!

Good as I can get it, was actually harder to do the clone/flip in nifskope. Ended up having to figure out how to rotate stuff in Blender. The collision isn't great, but then the original collision wasn't either. It should fit the job though.

Yep - that did the trick. Thanks a ton! Here are a couple of shots of the wall in action (the space above in the purple area will probably get a fancy scrollwork design). I also plan to use it in a couple of other areas too.
