Character Class

Hard to say without having all the abilities.

4 single
4 double
2 jack of all trades

Prolly

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing, may be different when I compete though.
I might only have like 5 characters. I'm not into playing "everything."

I may not end up playing everything but I want to play everything in order to help predict what people will do.

Got a point there. I usually rely on my friends to test out things I rather not, however.
I might be poking you once or twice in the future for tips if you don't mind.

So far I have a few characters planned out.
Main: Heavy Soldier Mini-gun (pointman).
2: Medium Soldier Assault.
3: Medium (or Light, haven't decided) Operative with a bolt action.

So I guess anything else will be solely for competitive play.
If I get enough time to play the game more outside of competition, then I will experiment further.

Yes and no. Yes because I want my main character to be a super-awesome Engineer, and no because I don't particularly need all of the Engineer abilities, so I'll get some other skills instead. Lots of Universals for sure, and probably some non-Engineer class-specifics as well, so that I can have something to switch to on the off chance that my team has too many Engineers already.

I Answered "Yes".

I`m going for a Light Body type, with ether Medic or Operative.

I`ll Have to do some testing to see what fits best

No, if our team is missing a then I'm going to need to switch after throwing a tantrum over the mic. EX: "Y TEH [censored] U GUIZ SO NOOBE SOM1SWITCH 2 MEDIC OMG". I also might get bored of playing a certain class and will need to mix it up. I don't really plan on having more than one character anyway. I'm probably just going to make an accurate portralal of myself within the game's limitations (I didn't see any grunge wannabe rocker haircuts so I'll make due with dreads) only he's obviously going to be more buff.

Those are usually things I pick up myself along the way, and I'm not much of an operative guy so, i won't be needing those from you. :teehee:

I vote yes because no matter how much I play, I always find myself going back to the same type of characters and weapons in every game I play

No no no no no no no. No.

Unless I'm missing the point of Brink, different classes are required to do different but equally useful parts of the mission. Although class specific characters will be powerful, they will also be an immense handicap to your team if you refuse to switch to a different class simply because your character is "class specific".

If, by class specific, you mean that you will focus on developing skills in a particular class more than the others, but will still play all classes with that character, then yes, it should be fine. But because there are only eight people per team, if 5 of those eight are all soldiers and refuse to change their class, it is going to be one heckuva bad game.

See what I'm saying?

this is the reason why i tend to play multiple classes each round on most games. you often find you get more XP doing that anyway so im cool with it.
