Water problems.

Post » Sat Nov 06, 2010 4:50 am

I have a persistant issue that has been haunting me since Fallout 3.

Every time i make a landscape that includes shoreline, or any shallow puddles, the water is always inviable. Not the main body of water, but the part of the water that would normally show the fading from land to water where the two meet.

This has been very frustrating and prevents me from doing a lot of projects I have in mind. Any help solving will be rewarded by cookies.

I do believe the issue your coming across is the legendary 'water coast shallows' bug.

The solution is simple, however it requires creating a fresh worldspace. You simply must set the default world water height to 10500 or more. Then make the land height below that if you intend to create an island, or above if you just want water for lakes and whatnot. This should make the water function properly, and not be really messed up around the edges. Though if you already have a worldspace with alot done, that work is gone and you must restart. :/ I hope this helps!

No problem! We all forget sometimes... except those of us who are elephants.
