If one Elder Scrolls were to be re-made, which one would you

There's this public assumption (I'm not referring to anybody in particular) on the forums that the poor, oppressed Oblivion fans are always being beaten down upon by the ruthless Daggerfall/Morrowind players. I'm not sure where it comes from. To be honest, I have to admit I rarely hear any criticism over Morrowind except "why can't I hit stuff in combat waaah" - although to me I think that's a big insult towards the game. You never get over being unable to hit that Mudcrab outside of Seyda Neen, so you either ragequit or always use it as an excuse for why you can't name anything positive about the game. Much worse than the concrete jungle/Colovians/Nibenese/Sutch/maledunmervoice that never got into the final game.

After my Oblivion MQ/SI rampage, I did find Morrowind combat a bit unusual to return to, but sometimes I wonder if people have anything against the game other than the combat. Because if not, then compared to Oblivion's thousands of complaints, that's generally why the fans are so divided around here

So basically your saying that peope who happen to prefer Oblivion never really gave Morrowind a fair chance? :lmao: Sorry but that's [censored] and you know it. I prefer Oblivion but i love both games. I've laid countless of hours into that game. Morrowind have plenty of shortcomings but some people is so blinded by nostalgia that they refuse to admit it. This thread isn't really about that however, but if you want me to, i have no problem outlining them for you. It is true however, that the combat system is probably Morrowind's biggest fault, yes it gets better as you rise your level but i don't see why this isn't a valid complain. After all, you spend plenty of time fighting in the game so i consider it a huge problem if i don't like the combat. Oblivion has faults aswell, i've never made any secret of that. It's just that all in all, i enjoyed Oblivion more.

Ofcause it isn't Oblivion bashing to want a Daggerfall or Morrowind remake. Atleast i don't think so and i'm sure most "oblivion fans" would agree. Don't lump people together like that. But it is true that there is lots of unnecessary criticism on this board. Some people bring it up at the strangest times.

snip

The reason you hear the combat complaint is because it is the biggest problem with Morrowind. Its not so much that people are saying Morrowind is a bad game, its that Oblivion improved a lot over Morrowind but people don't recognize that because the Morrowind fans have either improved it with mods or nostalgia takes over and it becomes the greatest game of all time. Morrowind fans take every opportunity to beat on Oblivion for not being Morrowind, when Oblivion fans agree with Morrowind fans that it was a good game, they just feel that Oblivion improved on Morrowind, making it a better game.

M'aiq is glad he has a compass. Makes it easy to find things. Much better than wandering around like a fool.

Wouldnt M'aiq like to go to the store and buy a compass?

As opposed to having one start floating in front of his face upon his arrival in Cyrodil?

Morrowind. While Daggerfall was great, getting it remade would just turn it into a 500x larger Oblivion. Dungeons were pretty generic and the setting was typical medieval fantasy.

If I had to choose, I would say Daggerfall. I've never played it, so I would love a chance to on a console. But, really, I would rather get TESV.

Arena. Throw in some updated lore, tighten the graphics, and add custom classes to at least the level of DF.

Daggerfall. But what the hell, Dagger XL is in the works. And we're not even mentioning the three or so morrowind engine rewrites in the works.
