Fallout 3 Script Validator.exe

Post » Mon Nov 08, 2010 4:29 am

Greetings all.

Over the last few days, Talk with Cipscis has lead to a variety of things.

Our main aim of this project is to deliver a, Fast, Reliable and Free Utility for Fallout 3 And/Or The Elderscrolls Oblivion.

This project, when finished will be a Script Validator Program.

That is capable of:
Features
  • Multi-core Compilers.
  • Fallout Script Extender Validation
  • Oblivion Script Extender Validation
  • Create Scripts
  • Edit Scripts
  • Open Scripts
  • Save Scripts
  • Syntax highlighting
  • Plus More

A stable Alpha build should be ready within a week.

For now The Validator will use Fallout 3's compiler as Oblivion's.
FOSE functions will be added in a newer Alpha build

If you would like to see it's progress, why not request a sneak peek download ;)

If you have any questions, or would like to contribute or even oversee this Utility, then please, by all means reply.

Thanks Persidon

How! In the program, lots of functions, arrays, variables and lots of lines of code. If the user input script is wrong when it compiles, it will produce error messages, tell you what should be(or close to it) and highlight the line with the error

Yes, of course. But I meant how you'd be writing the bytecode. Have you decoded all of the vanilla compiler's idiosyncrasies ?

Scripts aren't stored as plain text - ObScript/F3Script is an interpreted language that uses compiled script bytecode during execution. You might want to take a look at the currently exposed info at the UESP wiki.

UPDATE: Hello, progress is slow due to other projects. Please do not think this will never get finished. The current projects are a forum engine and a 3D render window. So im quite busy atm. Work will commence after one of the above pojects are complete. Also if you have any ideas or features you might want to see, then post them up
