I tryed useing bethesda's tutorial on how to fix but i ran into a problem

When i look at the greetings thing in the filtered dialogue menu there is no asterik indicating that it has been changed but when i go to add a topic my cursor changes to loading a the GECK screen gets a white transparent layer over it and it trys to load but sits there forever trying to load and if i click anywhere in the GECK a box pops up saying the GECK is not responding and the box has the options to close the GECK or searck online for a solution.

Basicly im wondering if anyone knows a solution or if my computer just svcks and cant process it
