Remove all creatures from the game world?

Post » Tue Nov 23, 2010 7:05 pm

Hi all, I'm trying my hand at the geck, hoping to make a plugin for my daughter (she's 5) as she likes wandering around megaton exploring ect :fallout: .
I hope to remove all hostile characters from the game world and leave only friendly npcs. Then she can explore the wastes without getting shot at lol.

The question is, am I able to remove all the spawn points or hostiles ect from the existing game world and how, or am I best to start from scratch?

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanx :hubbahubba:

From what I can tell messing with GECK I don't think you could delete all the monsters through a plugin.
The only thing I could think of is duplicating the esm file and naming it fallout2 so you know the difference.
But even then deleting all hostiles would be extensive work.
Though if I were you, I would make a plugin file specifically for her to play.
Ie, make a huge vault/town/what have you with lots of room to explore and sure scaled bobble heads and other random objects.
But thats just because I think it would take a huge amount of time to delete all hostile characters, that and I think a plugin specifically for kids of that age could be like a virtual play room and that'd be neat.

You should have little trouble making a mod sort of like you want. But it could be a large undertaking and take some time.

You could edit the leveled lists to remove the creatures you don't want.
Or you could change the factions so they are all friendly to the player.
You could also add the player to some of those factions like the 'Animal Friend' perk does.

This should get you a much friendlier FO.
The quests would be a different thing altogether though.

I'd have to agree with SinatoAkudoshi that it would be far simpler to just create your own little area for her to explore. I imagine being so young, she would be fairly pleased with a simple area. Also, besides just removing enemies, I don't know how many massacred corpses strung up and over the landscape you care for her to see, as well as the possible foul language, etc. I suppose the intro as a baby would be simple enough, though that would only really be a tiny room. But, again, I can only imagine a simple room made in the GECK would be more than enough if it comes that she always wants to play the game (vs it being a passing thing she happened to see and enjoy). Depending how much time you would want to spend, you could add friendly molerats, other little kids running about, or whatever.

Hey thanks for your input and ideas, I think I'll start over and build a plugin from scratch for her. SmakitDaSailor- thanks I didnt even consider the mutilated corpses! She's met snuffles the molerat from NV and she thinks he's cute so friendly molerats and kids sounds like a sure thing. SinatoAkudoshi has a fun idea upscaling bobble heads, I might bump this post later when I've made some progress, thanks again

I don't know why but the dismembered bodies completely slipped my mind :o
Though I like the idea Smakit put in about other little kids running around.
I think I'll keep up with this thread just to see what you come up.

The Fallout world it not really made for a five year old and being a father of five myself will not let my children touch this kind of game not even my ten year old, yet but to each is own  . I will say your a very dedicated dad to make a player friendly world mod for your five year old :goodjob: when it would be easier to goto the local Best Buy and purchase a age specific game.

Good luck

I've only let her play within the walls of megaton where the scariest thing is a two headed brahmin! The wasteland is certainly no place for a 5 year old. Trouble is she's got bored of Lego Indy, Starwars, Batman ect! I figured it would be cool to make something just for her and Dogmeat to play around in, and a good incentive to learn how to use the G.E.C.K.

Someone already created a mod that removes the raider corpses and the mutant gorebags from the gameworld over on the Nexus if I recall correctly.

With bloddy mattresses about with skeletons and pieces of people, the game can be pretty traumatic even for some advlts.

Agreed by adding all hostiles as player ally in the factions is a quick way to create a friendlier world. I think recently someone on Nexus has even uploaded a mod already that may have done exactly that.

You know what you could do? Perhaps use the Tranquility Lane and Pre-War peaces to make a visually 'utopic' map. With a terminal with a 4-6 number combination that only you know that lets you open the door out of this 'utopia' map. Maybe add a friendly Molerat, a dog, an some other little animals that arent to terrifying for a five year old.

I'm not much help, but I hope this sparks some sort of idea for you :)
