What is the most overpowered spell you can make?

Post » Thu Dec 16, 2010 8:54 am

I just thought it would be a fun thread to make if everybody posted the details and how to make their most overpowered spells, especially the ones that give you a huge advantage over your enemies. It has to be able to be done on "vanilla" Oblivion with no console commands or anything for it to count, though.

Mine is: Make an Illusion spell for 100% Chameleon. Equip any enchanted item that gives you Chameleon (even if it's only like 3%), and BLAM, you're practically invincible except for fall damage. Enemies will never attack you, and they can't see you even if you're in their face chopping them up. MAXIMUM ARMOR. CLOAK ENGAGED. :hubbahubba:

I made a "Shadow Suit" with each item at Chameleon 20% (Necromancer's Hood, Dark Shirt, Blacksmith's Pants, Doe-skin Shoes, Silver Amulet) ... and promptly stuffed it away in my closet after using it on two missions. It completely ruins the game. You can get away with anything, and yet it's still kind of annoying to attack some enemies because they don't actually put up a fight like they would if they knew you were there.

That said, I made a spell that kind of mimics the effect, though at least requires me to spend magicka on it: "Burning Sensation." Sets my enemy on fire, then immediately turns me invisible for 10 seconds, causing fire damage the whole time. By the time the duration is up, my magicka from casting has pretty much regenerated. I only use the spell in emergency situations...

There's the common weakness to magica stacking component used in custom spells and enchantments, the summon -x- creature + invisibility on self, chameleon examples described above.

Calm added as the 'last' effect in a damaging spell is also overpowered. Creating a simple spell as an example: (Fire damage 3 points 10 seconds, Calm lvl_ for 10 seconds) allows you to essentially apply damage and paralyze the target throughout the duration of the damaging effect(s).

Calm also benefits in terms of creature/NPC resistance to the effect. Calm is known to work on creatures, humanoids, daedra, dremora, and undead. Unlike Paralysis, which many creatures are immune, Calm can be applied in combination with a damaging effect to achieve both results for a more efficient magica cost.

The damage / pacification spells can be applied repeatedly to reset the DoT duration until the creature, NPC, what have you is dead.

Make these 2 spells:

Weakness to Magicka 100% for 5 secs on touch
Invisibility 5 secs on self

and

Drain Health 100pts for 1 sec on touch
Invisibility 5 secs on self

Cast the first spell 5 times
Cast the second spell to instantly kill any enemy you encounter.

My most overpowered spell is a touch spell, called "Void, The Movie." The original "Void" was made at Expert level Destruction, the movie version, was made at master level. I can one-hit kill nearly anything with this. Spider Daedra, Xivali, mended Flesh Atronachs, and other type of high-end enemies need more than this spell. Humans are a breeze except spellcasters.

Soul Trap 6 seconds on touch
Paralyze 5 seconds on touch
Absorb Health 10 points for 5 seconds on touch
Fire Damage 25 points for 5 seconds
Frost Damage 25 points for 5 seconds
Shock Damage 25 points for 5 seconds
Light 20, for 15 feet for 5 seconds
Weakness to Magic 100% for 5 seconds

I also like boosting my stats into the millions by summoning a creature, and repeatedly casting on him Reflect Spell 100%, Weakness to magic 100%, and Calm. Once MY own character has built up a temporary Weakness to Magic (usually between 5,000%-100,000%), then I use my special buff spells (also reflecting them off the skelton back to me, each of which also includes 3 Frost damage on self.

I'm not going into all the detail here to explain it, but you can get any of your stats in the millions with that method, which technically is a legitimate spell, no mods or cheats required. Jumping so high your character gets stuck in space and glitches out? FUN! The only drawback is that you better not get hit by any magic while your Weakness to Magic is boosted so high...

Fire damage 100 points for 1 second
Frost damage 100 points for 1 second
Shock damage 100 points for 1 second
Weakness to fire 30 points for 1 second
Weakness to frost 30 points for 1 second
Weakness to shock 30 points for 1 second
Drain Health 100 points for 1 second
Daedric armor on self for 1 second (rofl, I don't feel like typing it out")

The only reason I'm able to pull this off is because I used the ring glitch to jack my magika up to like 2000. I did this on the Xbox 360.

Relatively low damages, but over time, combined with drain speed, the most overpowered effect in the game imho, is the ultimate fire and forget. Watch them stand there stock still and slowly burn/freeze/get electrocuted.

And by the time it's finished, you have most of your magicka back for the higher hp enemies.

This almost exactly is what I did, although I used different clothes.

I tried to find the highest reflect damage enchantment possible. I used escutcheon of chorrol (30% or so), necklace of blade (33%) and other rings. I never quite succeeded in making the maximum enchantment.

It 1-hit kills a lvl 56 Ogre (1378 HP), which pretty much explains everything.

I mod it up, and I RP as a Paladin/Crusader, so my favorite/overpowered spell is this:

Holy Light

Turn Undead 100 points 3 seconds (Modded version kills any undead at max magnitude)
Light 100 points 3 seconds (Modded version obliterates Vampires)
Dispel 100 points on target (Auto kills summons, obliterates Daedra)
Holy Damage 100 points in 10 feet of target (Straight up damage, the visual effect is badass too)

Then there's my favorite power.....

Whatever you create as an offensive spell, it will all come back to haunt you when you encounter a Lich who reflects it back at you. Crafting a spell that's harmless on reflection isn't easy, and typically requires you to resist its damage ingredient at 100%.

That's why when faced against them I always use a spell that creates a physical ring of stones around the caster. Nobody can reflect rocks :D

(...neither is inmune to massive lapidation).

I have so been there. You really appreciate how powerful you are, when your entire spell is reflected back at you, and watch your health drop in seconds. I've died before.... lately though, if this was Fallout 3, I would hear my beating heart every time I get my custom spells reflected back at me.
