I don't know what version of Oblivion you played but I never encountered a "Areana" :P

/sarcasm aside, we have no idea if there will be a arena in Skyrim. I'd be willing to wager with Skyrim being the home of the Nords, any tavern could potentially become a "arena" :foodndrink:

I hope so. The arena was my favorite questline in Oblivion. I just hope the final boss isn't such a pushover.

I hope so, though I would like to see something that fits the Nord Culture. Or perhaps even something left over from the Dwemer. Something along the lines of a massive arena carved into the side of a mountain that the Nords have since made their own :)

Just a Conan style fighting pit in the ground thanks, or the African arena in Gladiator.

More team fights, more opponents at once and level-scaled opponents would be great.

I think that would be the perfect type of Arena-esque situation for Skyrim. I hope something like that exists. I really enjoy one-on-one confrontations with restrictions like that, where you win because you are the better fighter. If it is included, in an effort to make it more Skyrim-appropriate, maybe enforce a lack of clothing and bracers that prevent the use of magicka. Just go in with a weapon or your fists and kill the other person.

Hellz yeah. SKYRIM.

:P I agree. I would really like to see a Skyrim-version of the arena quests though. Although I would like to see it seem more like an actual epic arena. Oblivion's fights were just really easy, and becoming the arena grand champion got you nothing (Save an annoying little bastard of a wood elf.) Being the grand champion of the arena seems like it should have gotten you some more fame and rewards than it did.

And with finishers it could really be like that! :celebration:

tell me about it, how anti-climactic was that?

I was looking forward to the championship match until 2 seconds into it. an emo half-vampire orc that doesn't level past 10... lame...

He should of just been himself... not what his lineage was

I hope they do it better. I haven't played a game yet that captured that gladiator feeling right.

I want
- Better fans and spectators
- A humorous announcer
- Combatant politics!

I'd like to see Radiant Story expand Arena fighting into a much larger, more varied experience. There are all manner of new combat mechanics to show off and this would be the perfect place. Rather then a single linear quest with the same dozen or so opponents and a quick road to victory, I'd see it become a bloody, brutal event across several cities with a wide variety of opponents, both man and beast... And mer... Oh and beastman. Tailored opponents for important matches. Random traps. Packs of animals. Screaming Nordic crowds. Dirt and mead flying everywhere. I want to fight in the snow, in the mud, in the rain. I want it to be a part of life in the North. There when you are a level one whelp. There when you are a level 57 Dovahkiin. I'm not saying make it impossible to ever become Grand Champion... I'm saying shoot for regional first. I'm saying make it harder, longer like the Nordic ladies like. I'm saying make it so epic and unending that people remember why Arena was made in the first place.

If they do hopefully its better then Oblivion because once you won it was lame, add more things/people to fight, maybe a minotaur and some prisoners? Werewolf and vampire?
