Windows Snapped out - How to Put Back In?

Post » Sun Dec 19, 2010 3:01 pm

When I first downloaded the G.E.C.K., and after, I believe, I installed update 1.5, the object, cell view, and render windows were 'snapped in' to the main G.E.C.K. window (where the File, Tool, et cetera is)., thus, that is to say, they were part of the main window, or, attached to the main window.

Although it was awhile ago, I remember accidently dragging, I believe, the object window out of its snapped in position, thereby 'snapping it out' of the main window, and now it floats outside the main window, where I can minimize the main window without the object window following, thereby remaining in its position without the main window behind it. In my startled, confused, and desperate state, I managed to snap out the remaining (cell view and render) windows. Now, all three windows are snapped out, and like before, I can minimize the main window without them minimizing as well, thereby remaining where they are (still on the screen).

I have been able use the G.E.C.K. what I think is normally, but the snapped out windows do get in the way, and I would like them snapped back in -- its been awhile ...

How do I go about this (snapping the object, cell view, and render windows back into the main window, and stop them from floating outside the main window)?

I believe if you have the the window in full screen mode all the windows inside it minimize with the main window. If you click the restore down button in the upper right corner so that the main window is no longer maximized then the other windows float. So to correct the issue just click the maximize window button. If there is a way to have those windows stay docked when the window is not maximized I don't know how to do it.

Hmmm. So, this is what I understood, and tried:

1. Have main window in full screen mode. Individual windows float inside main window.
2. Restore main window. Individual windows float outside main window.
3. Maximize main window. Individual windows float inside main window (1.).

Did not seem to work, :(.
Much appreciation!
