Well when you see what they http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6a/Giant_ground_sloth_Iowa.JPG, it probably wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Gotta agree about the giant sloths! Although creatures like sloths and mammoths should not be aggressive unless you mess with them. It would really add to the ambiance. I hate how in TW2 everything wants to kill you! Ostrich, warthogs, cheetahs, rhinos, everything is out for your blood! Kinda gets annoying. On the carnivore side, I seem to remember a Skyrim sketch showing a rather large bear. Maybe this is the short faced bear from the ice age. Imagine taking on a 15 foot tall bear that weighs a few thousand lbs.

Anyway, I'm just glad they are finally adding some truly large creatures to an ES game! I have wanted that for so long. Taking down mammoths, giants, and dragons sounds exhilarating! I just hope they do the physics well, so that when you bring down a dragon, it FEELS like you bring down a dragon, and not a paper mache animal!

im not all about every animal being hostile, i would like to be able to see the animals go through thier daily lives without getting mauled like in OB :brokencomputer: , of course, i dont want there to be no hostile monsters, but i do want to see some friendly animals, make it realistic, if theres an animal that is not aggressive, nor skiddish, and they put it in the game, it shouldnt try to eat me, it should cautiosly observe me, or something like that, and i dont want friendly animals to be my best pals either, if i approach one of its young or its nest, it should either attack me or warn me to go away before it opens up a can of beastly whoop-ass. more realism=more fun=more sales=more money for Bethesda.

The Saber toothed cats was something i was hoping for so obviously, i am very excited that they will be in the game. The Mammoths on the other hand seems a little over the top but why not.

I like the idea of animals doing their own thing and in packs. However, I also like the idea of animals interacting together, within and outside the species. What if one of the quest was to hunt down a mammoth, but you have no idea where to start. However, you have insight on a location on a pack of sabre-tooth cats. Imagine if it could be possible to follow those cats around because they hunt Mammoths. I know it's unlikely, but imagine the dynamics of that? Talk about a living breathing world *cough*radiantAI*cough*

Oh yay, generic ice level. Am I playing some sort of hack and slash game going through all of the always present levels such as the forest and token snow level? Where the hell is this series inspiration. -_- Guess Morrowind was just the freak of the series.

You realize that the locations were set by the lore many years ago when the first games came out right? Cyrodil was supposed to be a typical forest setting with some mountains, Skyrim was created to be a snowy, mountainous wilderness, and Morrowind was a more alien, exotic location with more unique creatures and plant life. There have been maps and descriptions of these locations for years you know. What were the devs to do, say "hey, I have an idea, let's make Skyrim's environment made up of pink grass and giant trees that look like lollipops?"

Besides, they have already stated that the entire game isn't going to take place in the snow. There will still be forests, tundras, mountains, and glaciers. Also, I can't think of a single game that takes place in a mainly snowy environment. I can recall forests, jungles, deserts, and post apocalyptic wastelands being pretty prevalent, but I can't recall a single RPG game based around snow and ice locations.

Scale of a Mammoth...

Think they might tone down the size or go epic and make it even bigger? I'm hopeing this new Engine really is fit for large scale creatures. I remember in Oblivion Todd was saying how he didn't care for large creatures because it looked funny when fighting them. Things have changed and games like Monster Hunter 3 show that combating Large Creatures is very much doable.

Well, Mammoths are new, but Sabertooth Tigers were a Daggerfall creature. Their return gives me hope that other creatures will be brought back too.
