[REQ] Armour for a mountain lion

Post » Tue Dec 21, 2010 10:28 am

Hey guys, I don't know what kind of luck I'm going to have with this request, but I figured I'd try. :)

I'm working on a town mod at the moment, specifically the local skooma smugglers (which is going to be the equivalent of the Thieve's Guild), which basically is one Khajiit, and his Alfiq (or Alfiq-raht) brothers. For those not familiar with this bit of lore, they're basically Khajiit that look no different to a housecat, hence why I'm using (scaled-down) mountain lions. I don't need them to talk, anyway.

Now, to make things interesting, I'd like these Alfiq to actually wear armour and weapons. Not that they'd be able to use them, but it could make for some interesting loot if someone chose to kill the poor kitties.

If it's possible, I'd like them to wear Leather Boots and Greaves on their hind legs (applying the original textures here would probably be enough), with the Thieve's Toolbelt seen http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26688 over their shoulder or around their waist.

I know next to nothing about making meshes and so on, but I know that this is probably a pretty big request. Still, if someone were kind enough to give it a try for me, I'd be incredibly grateful.

Plus, it would look pretty awesome in that Elsweyr: The Deserts of Anequina mod. :D

Just an FYI, but if anyone goes to use the belt mesh, I think the Bip nodes need to be re-mapped on it. We're seeing an issue where it doesn't appear in-game but I'm still working on fixing it.

As for the idea, it sounds really neat. Puss-In-Boots eat yer heart out.

sadly request mods are usually ignored...or not ignored but cannot recieve a reply as many of the modders who are capable at doing such are too busy with their own mods or already help others.
Either you will have to be very, very, very patient to get a response, or learn to do it yourself.
However, even with being patient, someone might not ever reply, so your choice :P

Yeah, I figured as much, but if I don't ask, then I've got no chance at all. :)

thats the right idea sir!
A lot of times I still ask my requests unless they are absolutely insane and impossible :P
ofcourse...there is one insane request I still have in mind that is tempting to ask, but....eh...
Anyways, I suppose all I can do is say good luck, since I cannot model myself (and besides I have some big projects coming up that I don't think I would have time to model for you)

True. Anyway. You'r chance is not gone yet. Post a nice concept - if I like it, I'll help you.

Awesome, thanks. :D

Anyway, here's a mock-up of how I imagined it'd look. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m43/danburite/alfiq_thief.jpg
(of course, the lion would still have its tail, the layer with the back legs just sort of went over them ;))

I dunno about mr.Siika, but I can barely see the image. I think it would help him if you posted a larger one - even if he can see what is in the image :hehe:

I'll see what I can do, but that's as big as I could get the mountain lion to appear on my screen with it all still being visible.

EDIT: http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m43/danburite/alfiq_thief_BIG.jpg a bigger version. Really, it's pretty straightforward. :D
(if the boots and greaves are separate meshes, that'd probably be best, and I imagine it would mean less work anyway)

(Also, the pic svcks because I have no idea how to use Gimp, but hey, it's cheaper than Photoshop :D)

I know enough to give you a saddle or maybe something else rudimentary, but sadly this is still beyond me at this point. I'm truly sorry - I really wish I could help with requests like this.

lol that is better.
I found having a little knowledge of Photoshop goes a long way in GIMP :hehe: ofcourse, Photoshop CS5 is a masterpiece I must get my hands on as I don't think GIMP could ever compare to the new abilities in CS5...

I am off topic, so I am done here.

I have no idea what you want to show me with this picture... all you want is a leather belt??

I am not really impressed by the concept.
