[WIPz] Ranger's Shroud Armour

Post » Fri Dec 24, 2010 3:42 pm

And so we continue the tale of the long suffering Ranger's Shroud Armour project. It has been a good project, and taught me much about the way in which Oblivion's textures and models work, but I haven't been very kind to it over the years. In fact, I even lost almost all of the data regarding the original version 3 (along with every other Oblivion project I had going) late last year. A week ago, I received a PM from someone on Nexus asking me to create an OMOD for version 1.1, and it got me thinking: the semester is over, and I have this old unfinished project just sitting here. Why not try and finish it once and for all? Make it what it was supposed to be in the first place. To that end, I've jumped back on the bandwagon and spent the last week in blender, with a brand new design.

[whew] Now that you've suffered through my long-winded intro, here are some pics to whet your appetite. Hopefully I can say more are coming, since I do so hate to leave a project unfinished.

Please note: the textures used in these shots are as much a prototype as the mesh itself (I want to add a few more details to the mesh itself, then there's the matter of making the new textures).

Anyone have any thoughts? Comments? Words of anger against my creation of yet another WIP thread? Oh, and before anyone asks, yes. I am still working on Traveler's Cloaks. In fact there is some cross-over between the two projects as they share a new hood mesh.
