I am fully aware of the events of the infernal city, but this story my own interpretation of the events after the oblivion crisis. So don't come whining to me with a PM saying "Blah blah blah is wrong". I don't care and I will delete, then block you for life.

Intro:

(Nine years after the oblivion Crisis)

4E 9- It had only been nine short years at the time when Cyrodils economy had started falling through the roof. At that time all things went to hell. People lost jobs, business's closed, and everyone started to lose faith in their own government.

The elder council had started to see the coming crisis at the time. And so they got together and made a good promise to the people of Cyrodil that they would dedicate themselves to fixing the empires own economy. Of course they never really did anything in the end

Soon Black Marsh seceded from the empire. Thus in retaliation the Elder council called out for "The war on Black Marsh".

Because of the sudden war with the Argonians, the empires economy plummeted to an all new low. Money became scarce and what little was available became dedicated to the war effort. Other provinces started to lose faith in Cyrodil as well afterwards. Even all the different races that had made lives of their own in Cyrodil began to leave its boarders to go back to their homelands.

Job loss soon skyrocketed, and the people of Cyrodil started to lose their houses. Entire families were shoved out onto the streets. And beggars began to line the alleyways.

Then shortly after the imperial city began to experience the largest wave of crime ever in the empires history. All throughout the city crimes popped up left and right. It was reported that robberies and arsons were occurring every night in the Talos Plaza district. Gangs started to become uncontrollable, murders spread like wild fire, and the imperial watch was forced to run double shifts in order to keep up with pace.

The people of the empire would march up to white gold tower everyday and protest for change in the government and demanding an explanation for why the elder council refused to do anything about it.

Titus Mede who had been recently crowned emperor by conquest, preached words of change to the people of Cyrodil. But in the end he did little to save the quickly collapsing empire.

Now you ask why do I tell you all of this. Well folks I have a story to tell you, a story about a young Khajiit who, many years ago, lived in one of the worst districts of the imperial city. Completely ignorant to role he would play in the city's history.

This story is the about the birth of the towns greatest crime fighter.

Chapter 1- Day Dreaming

The damsel began to scream out into the night. She cried out for the help of a savior. But her screams went completely unanswered. For there a man in a dark hood began to creep towards her.

"Sithis has called for your soul. It's time to give it up you petty little girl." The man in the dark hood said sending a chill down the girls spine.

"Oh my god, please somebody help me!" The girl began to cry out. Tears streaming down her eyes. But no one could hear her, even the guards, who were now far out of ear shot of the dark alley. The woman's only reply was the sinister laughter of the man in the dark hood.

"Now the time has come for you young lass. Into the void with you!" The Dark hooded man then began to laugh even more as he pulled out his silver dagger, making it glimmer in the moonlight.

"Now DIE, for the dark brotherhood!!!" The man yelled as he swung the dagger towards her. But only to no avail, his hand had stopped in mid air.

"Huh!?!" the hooded man said as a long whip was suddenly swung around his rist. Stopping his hand from continuing forward.

"You leave her alone!" A young looking imperial man said in a deep voice. Holding a long black whip in hand. The imperial had a black bandana that covered the top half of his head. Two eye holes were cut out so he could see. Along with a pair of tights being worn below.

"Who the hell are you!" The Dark hooded man exclaimed in confusion. But was suddenly silenced by a quick punch to the face. He then fell to the floor and hit the ground out cold.

"My savior!" The woman screamed in excitement. "How will I ever repay you!!" The woman asked the masked man.

"No need young damsel. Just doing my job." The savior spoke humbly. Bowing politely to the poor woman.

"But there must be something!!!" The woman pleaded begging to repay her savior.

"Heh... well.... there is one thing you can give." The man then started to giggle slightly.

"Hey man what are you writing?" And right there, sitting at his desk, suddenly the Khajiit snapped back into reality. He dropped his pin and flipped around in his chair, only to find an orc who had been curiously looking over his shoulder the entire time. Embarrassed, the Khajiit quickly thought for an excuse, "Oh well... uhh I was just.... writing in my uh... journal!" The Khajiit said, still in shock by the orcs rude intrusion.

"Come on Jovey! I'm your friend! You can trust me!" The orc pleaded to the Khajiit, clasping his hands together in a begging sort of motion while he got on his knees. But The Khajiit Jovey of course already knew what he was gonna do. The orc for the past 8 months had constantly harassed him while he was working. Jovey by now had wised up to the orc's constant need to annoy him.

"Gro'tosh Leave me alone man!" Jovey yelled at the orc as he pushed him aside. The orc simply laughed in amusemant at the Khajiits petty comeback. Getting back up off his knees, Gro'tosh then grabbed Jovey by his fur and began to hang him like a fish trapped on a hook.

"Oh does the Kitty need a time out! Ha ha ha. I'm gonna have to set you in the corner!" The orc laughed at the Khajiit trapped in mid air.

"Let me down. Let me down!" Jovey yelled out as the orc held him by his fur, squirming his body around in midair as he spoke. But the orc just laughed once again in amusemant before tossing him aside into a lone corner. The orc then walked over to Jovey's desk.

"Oh. Now what's this we got here. " The orc said as he picked up a book and began to read what Jovey had just written.

"Ha, what's all this, looks like a bunch of gibberish in here!" The orc said laughing at Jovey's pathetic writings. He then took the book and tossed in carelessly aside, making it land on Jovey .

"It's not gibberish. It's a story about a hero, who stalks the streets of the imperial city, stopping bad guys and saving damsels. All while using the strange and complex gadgets he keeps in his tool belt." The Khajiit said, trying to explain his whole story to the orc.

"Never heard of anything like it? Sounds stupid in my opinion, especially the part about the gadgets and the tool belt." Gro'tosh said mocking the Khajiits pathetic writings once more. "Man you khajiits annoy me so much with your crazy antics. Fortunately for me, today's your last day here Jovey!" The Orc said before bursting out into a fit of evil laughter.

"Wh.. what! What are you talking about!" Jovey exclaimed to the orc.

"I just got word from Aldari. You know our High elf boss. He just appointed me to assistant manager. And my first action as assistant manager." The orc said putting extra emphasis on the words assistant and manger. " Is to fire you and your dweeby ass. You're out of here Khajiit!" The orc said before breaking out into even more evil laughter. "Now get out of here before I get my giant mallet out!" Gro'Tosh began to yell into Jovey's face.

"F... fired! But I can't be fired. My dad will kill me!" Jovey rambled. "Come on Gro'tosh you can't do this. You can't fire ME!!!" Jovey pleaded the orc for mercy. Getting down on his hands and knees. Knowing that if he lost this job, his dad would surely kick him out into the streets for sure. But the orc Gro'Tosh just laughed hysterically before picking Jovey up by his fur once again.

"Time to go Kitty. And take your journal with you. You can dream of men in funny tights in oblivion for all I care." The orc then carried the Khajiit out of the supply closet and into the giant open room of the tavern. Carrying him across the tavern floor and humiliating him in front of everyone. Soon though the orc came to the door with the Khajiit still in hand.

"Goodbye Jovey. May you and the rest of your race die off quickly... heh... and painfully." The orc Gro'Tosh then opened up the door and tossed the Khajiit out like a used napkin. Watching the Khajiit make a loud "Oof" as his bottom hit the streets of the imperial city.

Jovey quickly scrambled back up and ran to the door. Only to have Gro'Tosh slam it in his face when he was only moments from touching it.

"Damn" Jovey mumbled under his breath he starred at the empty door. He was now alone, on the streets of the most gang ridden district in the imperial city.

Okay its summer vacation so im starting this back up.

Chapter 2: Lost to the grime

Jovey paced lonely through the lonely and empty streets of the elven gardens district. Today the streets were littered with homeless people, down every alley and every corner. Family's of children, men, and women all huddled together for warmth.

Because the elven gardens district was such a low income area, there was almost no money to be made there. And so the elven gardens district got hit the worst by the falling economy. Nowhere else in the empire was there more crime, poverty, or homelessness. Jovey was one of the few lucky to be the son of a noble, or at least as noble as people get in these times. Him, his father, and his uncle all lived in a small apartment. Before the oblivion crisis of course, they were rich, powerful, and lived in nice plush mansion. But for now they would have to make due with the life of a commoner.

Jovey stepped through the door of his fathers home. It smelled awful of course, there were empty and shattered ale glasses laying all over the floor. Dirt and grime filled the up the corners of the apartment and to top it all off the apartment was about the size of your average storage closet.

"I'm home!" Jovey yelled at his father. Who was drunk on the couch....again. His dad then suddenly jumped up off the couch and turned towards Jovey in surprise. He had a large beer gut sticking out. Making him look more like an extremely obese house cat, as well as stained color white T shirt that didn't even cover his belly button. And unfortunately for Jovey his dad was in his underwear again. It was enough to make Jovey want to vomit that's for sure.

"Holy.... Jovey what are you doing here so soon!" His father looked in surprise. Being completely clueless as to what Jovey went through today.

Jovey shook his head in shame. "I got fired today dad. I don't work anymore." Jovey exclaimed to his dad. Ready for whatever beating his father would be sure to give him.

Jovey's father couldn't be more in shock from Jovey's comment. His ears went down and his eyes widened in disbelief. Without Jovey the family had no income, and before long would be on the streets like everyone else. "F... FIRED" Jovey's father yelled. "Is this some kind of sick joke cause its funny. No not one bit!" Jovey's father then walked over and starred angrily at his son. Putting his face inches away from Jovey's. Jovey couldn't help but back up away from his father.

"You know where you're going if you got fired Jovey...." His father whispered as he leaned over to Jovey's ear. Jovey couldn't help but nod his head to signal he knew exactly what his father was saying.

"Right dad.... straight to the streets." Jovey replied. Fearful of what was to become of him.
