weapon = run speed?

Post » Sat Dec 25, 2010 11:22 pm

Hi,

so sorry if there has been a thread about this, I couldn't find one.

Does weapon type affect your movement speed?

or is it just body type?

I'd prefer if your weapon didn't affect mobility, even if it's not realistic.

Iirc just bodytype for the sake of balance.

Well lights can only use smgs and pistols mediums can use ars and heavys can use miniguns don't think a heavy using a smg runs faster than a heavy using a mini gun but I could be wrong

You are wrong. Body type defines speed, no matter the weapon.

Which is exactly why it's a pretty terrible idea to give a Heavy a Kolt.

He said the same thing, though.

Don't forget reload speed. Heavier weapons take longer to reload.

So many factors come into play
rof-Rate of fire
w.w-Weapon weight
Weapon type
sniper rifle
machine gun
assault rifle
Character type
body type
Not to mention class..

As I learned from Counter Strike, you always run faster with a knife!

I find my self stressing this one single point.

We will not be able to fully comprehend the games mechanics until release or until there is a video release showing every angle of the games physics [A man can dream?]

This is true.

BUT, we CAN work from the information we've been given so far.

And, BASED ON THAT INFORMATION, the characters will have movements speed which is altered ONLY by their body type, and not their weapons.

This may prove incorrect after release, but if it does, that's because we've been deceived.

That still doesn't mean that a Heavy gun shouldn't use SMG's, or a Medium is crippling himself by using sidearms. All of the weapons have their pros and cons. A pistol would be an excellent partner to a shotgun, for example, due to their fast equip speeds.

True and a light would be far less likely to get into a knife fight with a heavy.
