NPC Armor health

Hi all,

I have made a new combat helmet and added it to an existing NPC. In the NPC's inventory I set the helmet to only be at 25% health. For some reason, every time the item is looted it is at 100% (undamaged).

Any idea how to correct this, or why it is happening?

As a start, I suggest examining the health of the item while the NPC is alive. Use console commands to view and manipulate the inventory and see the conditions of what he's got.

Perhaps the helmet is at 100% the whole time, and that's a different sort of thing to correct than an item which seems to shift its health when it's looted.

I have a few ideas but, it has to be first verified that the item is showing up at the right health in the first place.
