Exporting dialogue from Fallout NV to Fallout 3

Post » Sun Jan 02, 2011 5:12 am

Is it possible to export dialogue from Fallour New vegas to Fallout 3? I have both, but im finding it near impossible to make dialouge and New vegas has a dialogue editor that makes everything very easy. It seems to me that it will work, because of the same engine, plus Oblivion and Fallout 3 are compatable in some ways. Is it possible?

All help is appreciated :)

Thanks Everybody!

I assume what you're saying is, you want to create your own dialogue for a Fallout 3 mod, but because FO3's GECK doesn't have the NV Geck's new dialogue editor, you're having trouble with it. And for that reason, you'd like to create your dialogue first in NV's GECK and then import it into your Fallout 3 mod.

All I can personally think of is, you could try making an .esp in NV Geck and then swapping its expected master (using NVedit/FO3edit) to Fallout3.esm, and see if it works?

Or - - - in FO3 Geck, you just make a quest and start adding topics and linking them up, like all of FO3 itself was presumably done by its developers, and like we continue to do for our mods here ;)

Well, there is a dialogue exporter in fallout 3, so I suspect it has to be the same in new vegas.

I used that once, and it resulted in a text file being created with dialogue details in it.

I don't see an import dialogue thingie here, though. Just export.
