Stupid Problem, Looking for Stupid Solution that works

So I've been having some trouble with crashes, which svcks, but I finally found a fix of sorts: FO3MasterUpdate.

It seemed to solve my problems. The crashes in my game that always happened in one circumstance vanished. Now? Now my shotgun is acting weird. I think it might be related to my use of FO3MasterUpdate, but I don't really know.

I'm going to run one last test before I head to sleep, so if anyone has a idea on what could have caused it, or how to fix it, please tell me.

Oh, and it's not on the list right now, but I had Stormfront Studios Presents loaded, but removing it didn't fix anything, sadly.

The Problem is 2 fold.

First my Mod adds HangGrip animations that exact anim is my 1HPHandGrip3_Knives anim.

The second problem is Person who set up that weapon in the GECK assigned that weapon to use a HangGrip that in the original game did not exist its set to use HandGrip3 most likely from the 2HA animation set because the ONLY HandGrip3 that does exist is the 2HRHandGrip3 anim and since there is no 2HAHandGrip3 in the original game setting that did absolutely nothing but once I added the 1HPHandGrip3 all weapons in lower tier classes that got set to use that anim will now default to using mine as 1HP is a defaulting animation set -> the Fix would be to contact the mod author that adds that shotgun and tell them to correct their weapon entries.

As far as MasterUpdate goes, the Modules I deliver as ESP's really should be kept as ESP's as they were designed to function within the limitations and running them as masters is not a good idea especially with Weapons and Weapon Effects -> ECM could go either way I just keep it as an esp for simplicity.

EDIT: Upon more careful checking of the meshes folder, I found some stuff in the characters/_1stPerson subfolder, which looked like it was added by SSP. Removing them solved the problem. Seems I had gotten my installation order confused again. No worries, problem solved.

So, uh, do I PM a Moderator to close this, or just request that it be closed in here?

EDIT: Upon more careful checking of the meshes folder, I found some stuff in the characters/_1stPerson subfolder, which looked like it was added by SSP. Removing them solved the problem. Seems I had gotten my installation order confused again. No worries, problem solved.

So, uh, do I PM a Moderator to close this, or just request that it be closed in here?


Removing the Animation files will make it so none of the Weapons included in SSP will function in First Person any longer.

As good as Puce Moose mods are - they sure can use with cleaning - a few have 100s of dirty edits in them. During the beginning phases of Mr. Manchester the game would continually crash for me too - but go somewhere else and the game was fine.

Huh. Well, in any case, it wasn't a problem in the past for me. I'll check for dirty edits, but I doubt that that's what caused my problems. I mean, I've had CTDs trying to save in the past, but most of the time this was because I didn't know I was being attacked by a Talon Company hit squad by Rivet City. Killing them removed the CTDs there, so I figured it might have been the same problem.
EDIT: Saiden, removing them solved my problem. I removed the ones that caused it in third person as well. Hell, I removed the whole mod when I realized it was a conflict. I reported the conflict, and my guns worked just fine again.
