complete house editation

Post » Mon Jan 10, 2011 10:35 pm

i just had a random idea...

seeing as they let you buy a house why not let the player renovate it as well i.e add stuff or remove stuff add rooms or move rooms. i know its not likely but it's just something i would find interesting, is all. feed back?

They had that in the add-ons to Oblivion, I can't see any reason why it wouldn't make a return.

Yes, i'd like to be able to move tables around, ect. I have no idea if this is bring considered or implemented, its one of those "wait and see" questions. Both Fallout and Oblivion let you buy a new layout, but full customization? Who knows

i know they had that but it was only to an extent. i mean like a total re-customization. like building on to the house. adding floors, stuff like that.

Adding new floors and building onto the house is very unlikely. The most I would expect to see is the ability to move the furniture in the house around.

The problem with adding floors and other additions (without limits) is incredibly challenging. Even if it is only something like FO:3 where you can have a theme for each room that is a ton of new objects and scripting.

Best way to do this would be moveable furniture, many Oblivion mods with it. basically you buy something like a chair, table or chest in a shop, carry it home and drop it and you have a furniture object you can push or move around, activate it and it get locked, you can move or pick it up again if you activate it while sneaking or blocking.

Probably easer to make than the system in Oblivion.

True this was the easiest and best system by far. I think the ones that you could reactivate used the OBSE as there isn't a GetKeyPressed equivalent in regular Oblivion scripting. Hopefully there will be some kind of advanced editor for scripts this time around similar to what you see in Flash, VB, etc. Also, all the commands from the OBSE and more should be in!!! :flame:

I think it would be great if they had something like this.

I was thinking more like a top down editor, so you go to the general store and ask to renovate your home then you can move tables/desks/beds/everything around from the top down...but the mod method would probably be easier and work better ^^
