Towers, Stones, and other esoteria

I've been trying to grasp this idea of each game focusing on a tower in some mythic sense (not just physical tower but in some sort of mythopoeic sense). I've found info at the Imp Library about the Convention but not alot that's been helpful. Where should I start?

Try http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/nu-hatta_nu-mantia.shtml intercepts.
Daggerfall would focus on Numidium, Morrowind on Red-Mountain, and Oblivion on White-Gold.

I don't think each game destroys a tower.

The only thing that comes to mind that resembles that suggestion is that in each game so far something powerful has been destroyed, lost, disappeared or put together. Which was an initial assumption to explain why the Daedra invaded.

As far as I can see, only the demise of the Red Tower and the Amulet of Kings weakened the barrier enough to allow for an Oblivion invasion.

This suggests, to me, that the towers play a very important part in the overarching storyline of the whole series. The demise of Red Tower and the the temporary loss of the amulet of kings (and thereby the connection between the Septims and White Gold Tower) were certainly not just an plot device to explain why the daedra were able to invade.

So White-Gold is a mockery of the Adamantine Tower, Ada-Mantia (the oldest building on Nirn), and they built the city around the tower to resemble the Wheel (8 other towers). Three of those have been taken out (Walk-Brass, Red-Tower, and White-Gold). So what's next?

I'm thinking Crystal Tower. Crystal-Like-Law.

High Hrothgar? Hmm, that is more likely, since Beth did register Skyrim.

But then we also got the rumours in OB about the troubles on Summerset Isle.

And Argonia, and a little in Elseweyr. I wonder if they'll (metaphysically) deviate from past plots in the next one. I mean, they have all been so far about controlling giant things that reach up into the sky. First and fourth there was White-Gold, and then 2nd and third there was giant robots number 2 and 1 respectively.

Ok, maybe I'm stretching things a bit.

Yes High Hrothgar, my bad. I only say that because, as you said, Bethesda registered "Skyrim", and MK has been putting out Nordic lore (and yes I know he is not part of Bethesda anymore, but I have a feeling that he is currently signed on as a freelancer.)

What then is the wheel...and how does it relate to Ada-Mantia etc.?

Many thanks in advance...

It's a metaphorical description of the shape of the universe. Sort of like http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b9/Atom_of_Atheism-Zanaq.svg/709px-Atom_of_Atheism-Zanaq.svg.png incorrect, but representative picture of an atom.

Nirn is the hub of the wheel, and the Aedra sacrificed themselves to become its supporting spokes. The outer rim in Aetherius and the negative space inbetween is Oblivion.

Ada-mantia is part of a network of other Towers that mimics this pattern, and mimicry has very real power.
