It's just so atmospheric, the gloomy dark setting, the way the torch lights up, first time I saw it, I was thinking "WOW! It's not every day you see something like this!" Back then I hadn't seen many FMVs, later on I got C&C Red Alert, etc.
Realms of the Haunting was superb in how it integrated its FMVs to the setting / story, it often used the rooms in the game as the background, which really helped add 'authenticity', good times
