A note on advlt content mods - Original Poster kathode

Recently there's been something of a rash of mods featuring advlt content popping up, as well as many that are obvious attempts at toeing the line as to what's acceptable. We have no desire to police or limit the mods you produce on your own time. However, these advlt content mods cannot be advertised on the forums here. We have to apply the same standards that we apply to your other posts to the kind of content in the mods you advertise here. You can't post links to sites featuring advlt content in Community Discussion, for instance, so we can't allow it in here just because it's part of a mod.

It is indeed something of a gray area, but I'm not going to be drawn into a battle over semantics or particulars. Moderators have full discretion to make these determinations, and warnings and bans will be given out when needed. The general rule of thumb is that if you're wondering whether or not you should post something, then you probably shouldn't. Either that or ask a moderator or admin and they'll be happy to let you know.

IMPORTANT: Assets from other games.

We do not and will not get involved in the policing of the Fallout Mod community. However, in no way, shape, or form can we allow people to talk about taking copyrighted and proprietary materials from other games and using them for mods for Fallout 3

Any threads discussing using models or assets from other games in Fallout 3 are going to be locked, no questions asked. As a software developer and publisher, we don't have the luxury of looking the other way on this. Sorry.

We certainly don't want anyone using the work we've done on Fallout 3 in mods for other games, so we have our part when it comes to other games. Please do not use assets from other products for Fallout 3 mods, and please do not use any assets from Fallout 3 for projects in other games.
