IVE PLAYED BOTH AND BRINK IS THE FIRST U R WRONG

No he is right.
In Rainbow Six Vegas 2 your character in single- and mutliplayer is the same. Like in BRINK.

But in BRINK single- and mutliplayer are the same as well.

Brink is totally ripping off Maze War. It did the whole FPS thing back in 1973 and everyone is still copying it.

Wait a minute, could it be that almost every FPS runs on what is basically the same system but some of them break the standard mold and do something different?

CoD does its thing, MoH does its thing, Borderlands does its thing, and now Brink will do its things. In the FPS genre there are no unique "snowflakes." Its the same general shape with a few bits chipped off on this side or added on this side.

As for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 your character was persistent through SIngle and multi-player.

For an absolutely honest discussion, Brink is adding lots of elements together for the first time which is an original concept. SMART is original and I loves it.

Objective based game play, character customization, weapon customization, class based game play, and guns have been done before.

The way in which Brink does them fluidly and with the awesome addition of SMART make it a fresh game with some nice additional original ideas.

But brink is much more unique when it comes to everything. Characters, maps, gameplay, story. Cod games are literally all the exact same. If you dont believe me watch "funny bullet storm trailer." on YouTube. :peace:

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. Brink is not just rehashing old ideas. They are taking them, polishing, and making them better and putting their own spin on things.

They are definitely not just making it another run of the mill online shoot fest.

And hey... there are different guns in each CoD so that's... different... Hey, I tried to help them!

I never thought Brink was the first to do this.

It's not even the first to have drop-in-drop-out gameplay.

Ever hear about Mindjack? Sure, it wasn't very GOOD, but it still beat Brink to the punch on that particular point. And I don't even think it was the first, but it's the most recent, so I'll go with it.

I find it amazing and yet some what sad at the same time reading through this thread... Wondering why its not been locked yet.

But none the less - I find it amazing again how Rev is the only one who has actually seen the point to the OPs question, And is yet being the most respectful and most noble of you all.

Call me a Scrooge all you want - But i see this all too much as a "band wagon" of idiots who read 1 persons "Diss or Slate" comment, Find it funny - Then all jump on board.

When i read the OPs statement - I noticed as did Rev, That in no way did he once bring Brink down or relate it to R6 in anyway.

He only stated that "Brink isn't the first game ever to do this. Just want people to know, Rainbow Six:Vegas 2 does exactly that. Just want you guys to know. "

Where in his comment did he once compare Rainbow 6 to being better than Brink - Or that the name is more masculine, or "omg wtf, they cant run up walls!!"

So much hate directed by one persons misinterpretation of a topic title.

Keep your hate for in game when you will need it most - And stop with all the witty comments and driving into the OP like he was out of line, or some kind of Brink Hater.

No matter how many more people state why Brink is better....The OP is still right in what he stated....fact.

So lets no derail every thread nowa days to a flame war.

Keep it Civil :)

See you all in game

Well-said Sadiro.

I hope you hadn't read my post immediately above yours when you said it though, because I was actually avoiding the argument people were turning the thread into and going back on-topic, in the hope that someone else might follow suit.

Although perhaps letting the thread die with what little dignity it has left would be a better option...

Well said indeed. I agree absolutely that it was just a "letting us know" statement, and wasn't to do with Brink being good or bad at all.

... that is a very good note, thank you. I shan't lie to anyone now.
