Have horses been confirmed?

So there's going to be horse meat and no horses? Interesting.

Um, no? There weren't many meat types in Oblivion period. The only one I can remember that wasn't tied to an animal was the generic titled "beef"

Imported meats? Same with apples. Loads of Apples, but no apple trees.

there wasn't really much meat in OB any ways. were you pointing out horse meat because it was confirmed? I haven't read most of the interviews. (we'll know when it comes out)

I heard somewhere that there will be rideable dragons. but its probably just a rumour.
Not sure about horses tho. I'm sure there will be, since Oblivion had them.

We had horses in Daggerfall, but they weren't in Morrowind, so I'm not sure if we should necessarily expect something in Skyrim simply because it was in Oblivion.

What about those http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXmp1hLK0tY...

I don't care what mount we have, as long as they swim well... that and mounted attack too.

I would enjoy it more if, since this is in a scandinavian type of environment, there were reindeer as mounts...at least in the very northern parts.

In Daggerfall we had a Stick Pony, with blinders if it was a Cart, and an invisible guy following us with coconut halves. I imagine the character was the one letting out the overly common whinnies.

I've always assumed the technology wasn't there in Morrowind to accommodate it, since 3rd person views were in.

Still, I'm hoping that unless we have mounted combat, they leave horses out entirely.

I hope that if they have mounts they will not include ridable dragons or ridable mammoths or something like that. I would prefer no mounts instead of silly looking mounts, because I find it silly to ride a dragon... but thats only my personal opinion...

If they include horses or mounts, I hope they blatantly copy Mount and Blade's mounted combat, just like Mass Effect 2 blatantly copied Gears of War.

It seems like they were kind of useless in Oblivion.

Hose MEAT is featured in a concept art.

Are you hitting on me? :homestar:

As long as the mounts carry things in saddlebags and are better at traversing the world then my character is.

While they're at it, copy the whole combat system from M&B. Easily the best melee combat system around. I hadn't played OB in ages but I'd been playing M&B, and I recently reinstalled OB because of all the Skyrim hype and the combat just felt... wrong... :(

once you maxed speed attribute you were faster than pretty much any horse any ways (not sure what speed black horses were).

lol, when I heard that there were horses in OB I thought it was going to be such a huge game, why would there be horses if they had made a small map *gasp*

Well I read at the teswiki...
"Horses are once again available. Hostile creatures include mammoths; giant spiders; elk; trolls; ice wraiths; zombies; sabre-toothed cats; giants; wolves; skeletons; and, yes, dragons. Children are also featured in the game."

So i gess horses are in...even i never use them in oblivion, always run.

I always used a horse but I know what you mean. It would be cool if there were areas (quite big ones) where you couldn't take a horse because of terrain, or maybe a really creepy place where your horse refuses to go and just automatically turns round and bolts if you try to take it there! That would be very interesting...

I would rather have a horse than a dragon, as a mount.

yeah, i feel like most of the people who want dragon mounts are just WoW fanatics. as far as flying goes i think levitation would be enough

As long as you can tether your horse and it stays put I don't want in appearing out of 'no' where like a stalker when I FT, hopefully stable functionality has improved, I'm hoping the riding is like RDR. And at the very least horse back archery and spells, we could to that on LoZOoT over 10 years ago. No silly mounts it should make sence for the setting. Horses or elk are about as far as I'd go, dragons and bears wouldn't suit my tastes, mammoths would have to be done well and would be different in combat more of a weapon in them selves, not like you could reach ppl with your sword.
