[REL] Modders Resource: G.E.C.K. Alternatives

Fallout3Nexus: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14143

1. Introduction
Dear Fallout 3 community,

Since I had some free time on my hands I decided to play with NifScope and Photoshop a bit, to create two new alternative textures for the Vault 87 G.E.C.K. This is a modders resource so you can use this resource in your modification should you want so. This does not replace the original G.E.C.K.!

For mod players: Be gone! Modders only!

2. Requirements
In order for this Resource to work you need the following:

v1.0:
- Fallout 3 v1.7.0.3

It would also be handy to have a mod to include these G.E.C.K. alternatives in.

3. Compatibility
No known compatibility problems.

4. Feautures
This resource adds two new Vault 87 G.E.C.K. alternatives which you can use in your modification.

5. Installation and De-installation
Extract all the contents of the archive to the Fallout 3 data directory. The default location is C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data. After this you must use the Fallout 3 launcher, the Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) or Gary Bash to activate the Resource.

De-installation is easy. Just remove all the files added by this resource.

6. Contact
Use this thread!

7. Changelog
v1.0
- Initial Release

8. Legal
Do not upload my modification anywhere witouth my permission
Do not re-release this modification under your name
Do not sell this modification
Feel free to use this resource or part of this resource in your modification

You do not have to include the ESM to your modification per se. You can also just add the the G.E.C.K. variants manually to your ESP/ESM file. If you wish to use the included ESM, you're free to do so as well.

If you use this resource in any of your modifications, I would appreciate it if you give me credit.

I am not responsible for your hard disk suffering from a head crash when WinRAR is extracting the modification to the Fallout 3 data directory, nor am I responsible for any other damage caused directly and/or indirectly by this modification.

Enjoy the Resource!

Any chance you could make a version with the GECK insignia removed from the outer case (if you haven't already)? I realize the letters are modeled, but a retex could maybe make them less obvious. I'm using the stock GECK model for the RobCo Rapid Recharge Station that's part of Powered Power Armor, but when I went to make my own retexture I couldn't find where the letters were.

Mhm. I don't think that's really doable. I think the text will always remain obvious. It involves adjusting the mesh if you want it to look remotely decent imho. I would do it if I knew how, but I don't :(
