More natural movement?

What always bugged me about FO3 is the way the character moves through the wastes. You press forward, and the char immediately goes to 100% speed without any noticable acceleration. You let go of the key and the char stops like running against a wall without any noticable deceleration. While walking your head doesn't bob, it's completely rigid - same while standing still, like a plastic doll. Yes, in the end it feels like controlling a doll on train tracks.

Is there a mod to get rid of this behaviour? Anyone planning one?

Thanks for sharing.

It's always the little details that bug people XD

truth be told (while I don't play the PC version), I kind'a dislike the lack of fluidity to the character while moving...On the console, you move a diagonal direction with the left thumbstick, and the character's still moving forward as if it's running straight, but you're going the direction indicated with the thumbstick.

Only when you're going a sharp direction will it show. Otherwise...it's quite chalky :/

So yeah, I agree. The character could use a little more realism and fluidity to their movement.

Stutter Remover. Its far from perfect but stutter just turns into obvious lag. But on the other hand the stutter from less fudged up areas becomes more stable. So it turns into a question of; Do I take the lag once in a while over the full stops and jerks? Its one or the other, lol

Personally I can at least see what I'm doing in a lag spot (heavy action) compared to stop go and miss almost every shot, thus making heavy action impossible at times out of vats. Up to you which you want. =)

So you weigh it. Its not a fix either. First thing you may think is that it doesn't do anything. Once you play through certain areas you can see it pick up a little. Or maybe its just me lol

Animation is always one of the weak points in Beth games. Todd Howard has even admitted as much in interviews. I'm afraid the particular symptom you're describing is one you just have to deal with.

Well, compared to the beast races walking animation in Morrowind, any animation in Fallout 3 is pure gold :hehe:

There is a http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7670 mod, but it doesn't touch walking, yet atleast.

There was one mod that was working on it, but I think it died a while ago. It was http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7197. Also, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5120, but that was last updated June last year as well. I tried the first one back then but it was a bit strange. Doesn't look like its been updated since

That's all I know of.
