ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated crash. NO FIX AT ALL?

Post » Sun Feb 06, 2011 6:50 pm

Alright, so I'm installing FOIP here and I've tried to do so on 3 seperate clean installs of fallout 3.
I seem to have rooted out the problem (I'm 99% sure this is the problem, as disabling all mods doesn't work)

Archive Invalidation Invalidated. When I enable it it crashes my game. When I disable it, its fine, but my mods dont work.

I don't think a archive invalidation.txt file would work, the mods specifically state they need ArchiveinvalidationInvalidated to be enabled.

is there NO fix for this, AT ALL?

FOMM, does the same thing. IE-just use that since you probably are anyway and that is possibly the conflict. Besides, The stuff saying it needs the program specific Invalidated package was probably written a long time ago and can be ignored as you should already be using FOMM(mod manager).

When you use it, just click the button for invalidation and you are all set. Nothing else to play with =)

I remember disabled that and just using FOMM's, it still wouldn't work.

Then I disabled FOMM's archive invalidation invalidated.

Then it worked.

You're sure this will work right? I'm gonna take your advice and take 2-3 hours to install fallout 3/mods again, I hope this doesn't mess up.

I'm not entirely certain what the problem is to be honest as I can't see what you see. But I was assuming you had both the program Archive Invalidated going the same time using FOMM. Which shouldn't be a problem as the light switch is either on or off. Thought it was a possible problem, but I couldn't say for certain.

No reason why you should have both when FOMM does it though. Just a thought.

Did you ask around in the FO3 bug forum area? Try there before you re install everything. And try shutting off one mod at a time before you install everything. its tedious but maybe helps narrow the problem to one mod or another.

The problem is ArchiveInvalidation causes me to crash, and i pin pointed it to that problem. I disable all mods and it'll still crash. All. DLC included. but when I disabled ARchive INvalidation it'll work fine. This includes the mod and FOMM's. so I have no idea what's causing this.
