Making the game easy to play

#1, I don't have to argue the point that Morrowind had a more peaceful landscape, because that's called "personal opinion".
Second off, I never had a problem with Cliff Racers. Every few minutes getting attacked by a cliff racer>constant trailing of 3 wolves and a few bears. I'm sorry, but the "THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY OBLIVION IS INFERIOR TO MORROWIND IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER" fan boy elitism thing is really getting old. Oblivion is not better than Morrowind in every way, and neither is Morrowind to Oblivion. Everytime someone says something negative against Oblivion, a swarm of Oblivion fan boys flock to the call and say 'UHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOT RLY U HAVE NO PROOF, GIVE ME A DETAILED anolYSIS' from a member of this forum that's been here for like 9 days spouting off about how Oblivion is a step ahead of Morrowind in every way, shape, and form, and how TES:V should be an MMO with console multiplayer aspects too.
Was that a rant? Sure was. Please tell me how wrong I am, I await it.
inb4 quotes of this with replies like "you're the elitist bro".

A little bit angry for my taste, but I find myself agreeing nontheless.

I don't know what game you're playing Seti, it sounds like your going off the path in order to get attacked by thousands of cliffracers so you can come to the forum and whine about it and say Oblivion is nowhere near as bad. :whistling:

@Betrayer of Humanity-- It's funny because nobody here is trying to say that Oblivion's in no way inferior to Morrowind. Ditto for the notion that it's better. If you encounter other people like that on the forums, then fine, tell that to them, but don't drag that nonsense into here when you're talking to people who have made no such argument, please.

@SirStabsAlot-- I stick to the paths in both games, and in both games I find myself in combat pretty consistently. Not saying it's necessarily a bad thing-- I like having a break from holding W, but I'm just saying it's fairly similar in both.

EDIT: A thought-- perhaps the problem here isn't the substance of what you're saying ("I didn't like X about Oblivion"), but the general tone of "Oblivion is garbage and doesn't deserve to be called an Elder Scrolls game because X dumbed it down and made it a game for casual Halo players." Notice the difference? When you take a tone that's aggressive and hostile, you can't be surprised when people respond in kind.

Yes but there is also a difference between "I can't stand this about this game and Oblivion was dumbed down because of x." and "Oblivion is garbage and doesn't deserve to be called an Elder Scrolls game because X dumbed it down and made it a game for casual Halo players." Because the first one everyone here has the right to say without getting mobbed by devoted fans (I find the auto censor funny) simply because it is only offensive to some people when they massively blow it out of proportions. (not trying to take a stab at you)

And by the way, don't insult Halo! There is a huge parallel between casual Halo and hardcoe Halo. And I play hardcoe. ;)

What. Because wolves/imps are so different from rats and cliffracers. Or rats and imps in Daggerfall. If you hate that about Oblivion, fine, but don't pretend for a second that it's any different from any other game in the series.

I have NEVER saw an enemy in ANY game EVER be quite as bad as Oblivion's wolves. The reason there isn't as much hate is because the majority of Oblivion players are those who believe Oblivion is a perfect god-send. People would insult Cliff Racers in jest with Morrowind. We know the game isn't perfect.

Hamsmaago (I believe) said something a while back about Oblivion fans will defend the game far too much. A blatant problem will neve rbe recognised. It's ridiculous, and you need to stop.

Good lord.

I'm so [censored] sick of the assumption that I'm completely unaware of any flaw with Oblivion. Go through my posting history, I've stated my issues with the game more than enough times. Nobody here thinks Oblivion is a perfect god-send. Please, I am begging you, STOP ASSUMING THAT IF WE DON'T AGREE WITH YOU, WE THINK THE GAME IS PERFECT.

I was talking more about trolls and flame baiters.

People who haven't been a part of this giant, long-running argument will skim over the general forums, see the negative comments about Oblivion, take it as a personal attack on their taste in video games, get paranoid that if they don't speak up, the next TES game will be a slow-paced city-simulator, make a new thread that resurrects a bunch of dead horses, then slink away back to Oblivion Cheats, Hints and Spoilers.

I have started to notice that the angriest arguments on this forum are started by someone who disappears as quickly as they appear, leaving us to lunge at each other's throats, wrongfully.

I'd say MOST of the regulars on this particular forum have taken a stance that both games have a lot that need improvement. Oblivion is a downgrade is some aspects and an upgrade in others, but now and then, some newbie will appear and declare that Oblivion was a total upgrade or downgrade in every shape and form and that's when the flaming and the warning and the locking happens.

I can understand this position. there's been over 4 years of debate and discussion, every problem, or flaw has been filtered, distilled, and purged down to it's essence, and most discussions at the moment is on a much higher level than 4 years ago. Then when somebody new comes in who hasn't been around to participate, and is oblivious to the current level of communication, that person then throws out a 4 year old dead cricket thinking it is still relevant. This is then proceeded by an undead stampede, as four years of arguing gets revived and concentrated into a single thread. Everybody gets covered in rotten flesh, and the stench makes the mods angry.

I assume you use WASD on PC, right? Because Q is auto-walk. You just tap it once and there you go. You won't have to hold down W.

PS: Sorry for upsetting you with my rude comments about Oblivion, I still like the game. I don't even play Morrowind anymore, haven't played it for years.

STOP ASSUMING THAT IF WE DON'T AGREE WITH YOU, WE THINK THE GAME IS PERFECT.

It's not that. It's actually when you defend every single complaint towards Oblivion, and to hell with obvious flaws. I agree with hamsmaago's comment there, though. Let's hug and make up.

:hugs:
