Experience and the MG Nest

Post » Wed Feb 09, 2011 12:24 am

If as an Engy I build my team an MG Nest in a nice choke point but then move on from this spot to set up a couple of mines and drop a turret. Would my other team mates who use this be gifting me experience from the damage my MG Nest causes??

Actually a good question. I don't know. I mean I think you would get some points for making it, but kills are separate but I could be wrong.

I believe the kills are separate, but you still get a notable amount of points for crafting the M.G.

Hope that helps.

You'll get XP form building the MG nest of course, but no, you won't be getting it from kills your teammates accumulate.

That would be overpowered. Everyone would be engineer and destroy friendly MG nests(if that's possible) to construct their own MGs and accumulate points for their teammates killst BUT as far as we know, if a friendly Operative hacks your turret and gets kills, then you get XP. Although this wasn't confirmed it doesn't seem out of the question.

I think you get credit for building the nest and the kills.

Developers have said on the Splash forums that once a turret is up, it stays up. There are two kinds; mounted guns protect your body but not your characters head, and another is like a standalone turret with a face shield, which protects the head but not the body.

Or you construct it than use it for XP.
