Remember this guys?

Daggerfall had a way to put music, not only in places you where, but also with what is happening. Music for the night, music for the snow, Music for sunny days etc.
I think a return to that kind of thing, instead of just 5 musics looping dependeing on where you are (and if you are in combat) would be awesome.

Actually, I think that Combat music isn't so great. You can't get surprised anymore like you could in Daggerfall, with creepy music, you go for a right turn, realise you are going the wrong way, turn around and ARGH! How long have that damned vampire benn following me?!
I think combat music should just be there for epic fights, like agaisnt dragons or very powerful guys. For the rest, leave the music act as the seasons slowly change.

PS: please bring back the "snowing tune" from Daggerfall!

I hope they use the ending music at the end of the podcast for basic wandering.

Agreed. If there will be combat music it should begin when you get hit.

I think that the best implementation of dynamic music is found at the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky.
Each region had two different musics one for night/one for day but what was special in this game's sound was the way battle music was generated at real time depending on what's going on.
The game actually had different audio loops (e.g. 5 drums loops,6 guitar riffs etc) and combined them based on what's happening.
Real time music arrangement and mix.
For example if you where on a fight with 5 bad guys and you was shooting them with a sniper rifle from distance, the battle music would be there but with a moderate tempo. If you would attack them on close space the music would be more intense and at higher tempo.
If you take cover behind something the guitar would stop to play and you would hear only the drums.
If your health was getting low another synth sound would be added to the song to make it feel more dramatic.

It was a brilliant system working very well but unfortunately they had to discard it from their next game 'cause it ate too much resources. :sadvaultboy:

I'd like to see something like that not only in Skyrim but many other games but unfortunately until more people have more powerful machines (new gen of consoles) I don't think we will see something like that.
But even with better hardware I still think that the sound of games is often overlooked for graphics or controls and almost nobody tries something new at sound.
