NFL lockout

Post » Wed Feb 16, 2011 1:45 am

If your here you know what its all about. Im just a little bit lost.

So what I gather is that the players union broke from negotiations and decided to decertify. Im not 100% sure what that exactly means, but I take it to mean that negotations are over and we wont have a 2012 season. Is that a correct understanding or can someone spell this out for me.

Wait... wasn't it 4:59 PM ET that was the deadline?

Pretty sure that officially means it's going to be a lockout. And since they are taking it to court, we are looking at a lengthy one.

Welp. Bye-bye all respect I had for the NFL, both players and management. Just a bunch of greedy people.

Well good thing the NFL not based out of Wisconsin because there no longer is collective bargaining in unions... (not intended to be political)

NFLPA decertified their union status. So that doesn't even matter anyways.

Players are taking this to court, which is going to take months and months.

Any football fans out there really shouldn't expect much from next season. Probably won't have any training camps, half the pre-season will be scrapped etc etc.

Greedy [censored]s.

It's all good. It's been a stressful couple of days... and this is a lovely topper to it all.

I love football with a passion. And now these greedy [censored]s take it away for who knows how long.

Not to mention how bad next season will be if there even is one. Injured players can't go to team doctors. Healthy players can't work with anyone from the team, no trainers coaches players or anything. It's just a terrible situation.

I hope the NFL loses massive amounts of popularity like the NHL did after their lockout.

OH well, it's been a snore fest anyways. Now we can watch some real Football, CFL.

Pretty sad how everyone has to be so greedy, and squeeze every penny from the other. Ah greed. I hope the season shuts down, and both parties loose all that money. Hell make it 2 or 3 season, I don't thin we will miss anything.

I'm not even sure what Collective Bargaining is, from what I understand they had to decide a way to split up 8 bil?

I know that the NFL wanted to make it a 2 game pre-season and a 18 game regular season but the NFLPA didn't want that, Birk, The Ravens Center said "I would say maybe something like a 16-game season and [eliminate two preseason games] and maybe expand the playoffs by two teams and eliminate the first-round bye for the one and two seeds. That would give you two more playoff games on TV that you could televise." but I wouldn't like having the #1 seed not having a bye week. Maybe at 1 extra WC (so 7 team per conference) and do it like 3 games in the first round then the #1 seed comes in the 2nd round with 2 games and then have the championship.
