I lost Fawkes

Post » Thu Feb 17, 2011 11:42 am

I started THE PITT quests. Before I started it I went to Megaton unloaded all of my items I wanted to keep picked up some things to get me by and told Fawkes to stay there. As soon as I got on the hand cart to enter the PITT a message come up on the screen the said Fawkes would be waiting a specific location. The problem is that I don't remember where it is...... Has anyone had a similar problem? I like to use Fawkes as my pack mule for extra stuff and I want him back.

Hes pratically indestructible - how did that happen?Unless you are using mods to lower his health

I got him killed in my game. There were no surviving enemies anywhere near, so I was extremely startled to get the simple message: "Fawkes has died."

Memo to self: do not bring large, clumsy followers onto high, rickety overpasses. :shakehead:

[Edit] By the way, if you don't have the DLCs installed, Fawkes may be far from indestructible. True?

Well, he has 50 DR in vanilla, and combined with the fact that DR is doubled on monsters, he has 100 DR(capped at 85), but BS altered that, I recall. But fall damage > DR of any sort, yet NPC Essential > any lethal attack what so ever, so make him essential and the only way to lose him is to tell him to wait, then forget where he was waiting.

No. I have MMM 6. One time he fought with (my character) off 30 super mutants in the Capitol building. In L'Enfant Plaza they keep on coming and coming. It was a 18 hours continuous battle. We went into one building which is a Gentlemen room. We got out and another wave came along. Went though the night using Xepha dark nights (nice and frightening in DC proper). Imagine fighting off six overlords with tri-laser and gatling laser in the mix with masters, brutes and regulars. Its the way I set up MMM 6. One to three extra spawns with DPS or is it DSP in every six levels.

If you use one of my remote control companions mods they have a feature that marks your companions with a quest arrow. The basic version is for vanilla followers only and will show their location at any time http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1683 The more advanced version requires you to add your companions to the mod when standing near them before you can track them http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11444

If your vanilla follower was killed and enough days have passed they may be deleted from the game. If you find the quest arrow pointing to an area they are not visible in then that is the case most likely. The advanced version lets you toggle them as a quest item so that won't happen.

Anyway hope you find him, good luck.

Edit: Forget what I said about the first version being able to track your companions. Only the plus version offers that option. I had made a version for only vanilla followers that had the tracking, but I stopped work on it to concentrate on the broader use plus version. Sorry if there was any confusion.
